Chris POV

My palms were sweaty and my hands were shaking. I was nervous and I couldn't hide it. I cut off the engine on my car and stared up at Acacia's house. A bad feeling had been weighing me down ever since I left my place. I didn't know what the feeling meant, but whatever it was, I didn't want it to spoil our night. I had done everything that I thought was right so far: I'd dressed up nicely, chosen a restaurant that was low-profile and made it on time.

I made it to her door at exactly 9pm and I rang the doorbell. I silently prayed that she'd be in a good mood- when she was happy, I was automatically happy too.

The moment I saw her, the bad feeling had vanished with the air. My pre-planned greeting was caught in my throat, and I struggled to speak. She had done it again, she managed to look flawless so effortlessly.

"Hi." She smiled sweetly at me.

"Acacia..."

"You look good in suits." She commented, looking me up and down.

"You look-"

"I'm ready to go now." She interrupted innocently. I blinked at her and she continued to smile at me. Something told me that she didn't like to be complimented by me.

"Are you alright?" I asked just in case.

"I've been worse." I didn't know what she meant by that, but I decided to drop it for now. I lightly took her hand and led her to the car with me. I held her delicately, like I would lose her if I made one wrong decision.

I started the engine and began to drive. Acacia looked at the dashboard of my car and back at me. I smirked slightly.

"Oh yeah, I'm driving without a SatNav." I showed off. Acacia burst out laughing. My eyes were off of the road for a second too long, I was staring at her and the way she laughed. She looked so carefree, like she didn't care what she looked or sounded like. An abrupt car horn from behind me turned my attention back to the road before me.

"Alright Mr Cool, looks like somebody has been doing their homework." She grinned at me.

"Yup. And it's all paid off." I smirked.

"Let's not get too cocky now, son." She slapped my arm.

"Hey, don't hit the driver, unless you want to get us both killed." I warned, unable to keep the goofy smile off of my face.

"Oh shut up, you. And where on earth are we going anyway?"

"Okay, I take back any insults I have given to you over the past hour," I grinned foolishly. "This is bloody perfect!"

I stared up at the Greek restaurant, smiling inwardly and outside. That was sweet of Chris, it really was. Slowly, a hand slipped around my waist. I didn't jerk, the feeling was gentle and nice.

"I'm glad you like it." Chris whispered in my ear, locking the car door behind him. We walked inside and Chris ordered a table for two. When we were seated, I continued to stare at him.

"How did you remember that I was Greek?" I asked.

"I'm not stupid, Acacia. I won't forget that quickly." He rolled his eyes. There was a dim light that shone directly above Chris, framing his face perfectly. His eyes looked extraordinarily bright, live-wire.
