(Y/n)'s POV

"(Y/n)!!" Byungho yelled, running up to me with open arms. Once he was close enough, I picked him up and twirled him around.

"Hey buddy! How're you doing?"

Byungho's eyes sparkled as he told me about his day. "Daddy made eggs and toast and fruit and it was soooo yummy! And he promised to take me to the baseball game tomorrow!!" I smiled at Byungho's enthusiasm.

"Thank you so much for taking care of Byungho today, there's something wrong with some papers and-" I cut Baekhyun off.

"It's not a problem, I totally understand." Byungho got out of my arms and ran over to his dad, giving him a big hug that was immediately returned.

"I love you bud, be good for (Y/n), alright? I'll see you after your nap time." With that, Baekhyun went to his car and drove off to work. Byungho and I went into my apartment, Byungho heading straight towards my board game closet.

"Can we play this one? It's my favorite, but Daddy won't play it with me because I always win." Byungho held up the pink box of CandyLand, and as soon as I nodded my head, the game was already unpacked on the table, ready to be played.

I had been Byungho's unofficial babysitter since his birth. Baekhyun and I had been friends in college, so when I started babysitting as a side job to get more money, I told him that he could have me babysit whenever he needed me to. Byungho was born during his sophomore year of college, with some girl he was dating at the time. The woman didn't believe in abortions, but she didn't want to take care of the child, so Baekhyun agreed to support Byungho, despite not having a very high paying job while in college. As soon as his girlfriend gave birth, she gave him Byungho and left town, never to be seen again. Whenever Baekhyun had a big essay to do, or had finals coming up and needed a quiet night, I would take Byungho and watch him for the night. After we graduated, I didn't see Byungho very often, as Baekhyun finally had time to take care of his son. When Baekhyun started climbing up the ranks in his business, I started seeing Byungho a lot more.

"Aaaannnnnd I win again!" Byungho declared, his character making it to the castle.

"Again? You really are good at this game." I laughed, impressed that he was genuinely kicking my butt at a children's game.

"You're still better at it than Daddy, he's reaaaallllyyyy bad at CandyLand." Byungho whispered to me. Just as he was about to reset the game, his tummy gave out a large growl.

"Oh boy, you must be starving! What do you want for lunch?" I asked him, getting up from my seat and going into the kitchen. Byungho followed me, opening up the freezer and taking out a bag of dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets. I smiled at him, taking the bag and getting out the air fryer. As I prepared a couple of side dishes for his lunch, Byungho stared at me.

"What's up little dude?" I asked, getting out the ketchup.

"You're really pretty. Do you have a boyfriend?" He asked. My eyes widened as I held back a laugh.

"No, why?" Byungho's eyes lit up as he leaned forward.

"Then you should date Daddy!" He yelled. I made a couple of incoherent noises before holding the spot above my heart. Byungho gave me a weird look.

"What's wrong? Do you not like Daddy?" I quickly denied his assumption, trying to find a way to explain myself without exposing myself.

"It's just... I've never really been your dad's 'type', per se... plus, he has a lot of stuff on his plate, I'm sure dating is the last thing on his mind." I told Byungho, cutting up some vegetables and putting them on his plate.

"I think Daddy likes you." Byungho said casually, stealing a carrot from me.

"What makes you think that?" I asked, not wanting to get my hopes up. Byungho shrugged, sitting back down at the table, waiting for his lunch. I let out an unnoticeable sigh before taking the chicken nuggets out of the air fryer and onto our plates.

The rest of the afternoon went by fairly quickly. Byungho and I took a walk, played on the playground, and came back home for nap time. I let Byungho sleep on my bed while I went into the desk in my living room to get some work done for my day job. Soon enough, I heard a knock on the door, along with a text from Baekhyun saying that he's here. I went and opened the door for him before checking on the still-sleeping boy in my room.

"Thank you so much for taking care of him on such short notice, I know you've been really busy lately with your company."

"It's totally fine, Baekhyun, I love watching over Byungho." Baekhyun just smiled, playing with his hands a bit, trying to think of how to phrase his next comment.

"Daddy!" A little voice yelled, accompanied by the fast footsteps of the 6 year old boy.

"Hey Byungho! How was your day?"

"It was amazing! Mommy took me to the park, and we played CandyLand, and I beat her at it! We had dino chicken nuggies and veggies and- helllooooo? Earth to Daddy?" Byungho stopped when he noticed that Baekhyun wasn't listening anymore. Baekhyun and I were both wide-eyed, looking at each other.

"Did you not ask her yet Daddy?" Byungho 'whispered', obviously in on something I was not.

"How about you go get all your stuff while I talk to (Y/n), okay?" Byungho nodded, looking at me with pleading eyes before going to put on his shoes. Baekhyun shifted on his feet for a minute before coming to sit next to me on the couch. He left a sizable distance between us, not wanting to make me uncomfortable. While he talked, he looked between his hands and and the wall next to us, only looking at me for a millisecond before turning back to his hands.

"Well, uhm, I was wondering if you'd like to... y'know... go out for dinner sometime? Just me and you?" Baekhyun asked, trying to hint at something a lot bigger than just a dinner invite. I tried to tone down my smile, not wanting to seem like some crazy person.

"I'd really like that." I told him. Baekhyun made shy eye contact with me, a wide smile on his face.

"Really? Does this Friday work for you?" I nodded, not even checking my calendar, knowing that I could just reschedule anything I had going on that night. I noticed Baekhyun not-so-subtly pinch his forearm, his smile growing bigger when he felt a small ache in the spot he pinched. Byungho ran into the room, looking expectantly between me and Baekhyun.

"So? Is Ms. (Y/n) gonna be my mommy?" He asked Baekhyun, smiling just as widely as his father. I simply motioned for Byungho to come over to me and gave him a large hug. Taking that as a positive reaction, I could sense Byungho pumping his fist into the air, with a tiny 'yes!' escaping his lips. Baekhyun and I shared cheesy grins as Byungho hugged me tightly.
