Beomgyu's POV

I sat on my throne, watching over miserable humans through the cauldron in front of me. I sighed for what felt like the millionth time.

"What in Devil's name has got you so worked up Gyu?" Taehyun asked from his throne, rolling his eyes. I had barely spoken a word for a whole year after I left the mortal world. I would just watch my cauldron of mortal affairs with disinterest, sighing out of boredom.

"The mortals are starting to bore me." I told him, swiping through different lives.

Everything was just boring. Tampering in the lives of mortals no longer filled me with sadistic delight.

"How can you be bored of it? You used to thrive off of ruining lives!" Taehyun exclaimed.

"It's the mortal girl. That's why he's moping around." Soobin said. I glared at him, not saying anything.

Yeonjun let out a snort. "Yeah right. Heartless Gyu falling in love? With a mortal, no less. I doubt it."

"I agree with Soobin on this one. He hasn't been the same since he got back." Hyuka said, looking into his cauldron. He showed us (Y/n), walking on her campus at this very moment. She had gotten into the college she wanted, despite nearly flunking her senior year. She had stopped going to parties, was getting solid A's and B's in her classes, and was making new friends.

"Ohoho, look at him." Hyuka said. When I looked back at the image, there was a male with her, wearing a baby blue shirt and white shorts.

"How are you doing today darling?" The man asked. Her face went red. My fists clenched as I watched the scene unfold.

"Yedam, I told you not to call me that." She whined.

"Why not?" He asked. She just shook her head.

"I'm doing fine. Professor Kwon gave me a 94 on my quantum physics paper." She told him. From then on, the two just talked about their quantum physics class. I didn't like how he was so close to her. Waving my hand over the cauldron, I tried to make him trip and fall. However, he was unaffected by my magic. Hyuka let out a gasp.

"He was unaffected by your magic!" He exclaimed. Soobin furrowed his brow.

"But that means-"

"He's an angel." I finished, leaving the throne room immediately.

"Big boss wants to see you." Soobin said, silently judging my state. I was laying on my bed, staring up at the ceiling. I reluctantly got up, not wanting to anger the boss. Soobing led me to the boss's throne room, not going in with me.

"Beomgyu." His voice boomed. I bowed my head to him.

"You've been slacking off lately." He said, watching me carefully.

"I'm very sorry Mr. Bang." I replied, still bowed. He stayed silent.

"If I find out you're still moping around about that mortal girl and not doing your job, I will be extremely disappointed. You're one of my best demons; that is why you were put on my personal demon assistant board. Pick it up, or you just might find yourself stuck on Tartarus Patrol Squad, and trust me, some demons lose their sanity down there." He lectured.
