(Y/n)'s POV

"Hey (Y/n)!" My friend, Hyori, greeted, walking up to my table at the coffee shop.

"Hey girl. How you doing?" I asked.

"Wellll... I dyed my hair, as you can see, and I got a tattoo." She told me. I could tell from her now-red hair that she dyed it, but a tattoo?

"Really?! Where?" I asked, excited for her. She had wanted a tattoo ever since middle school, and promised that when she turned eighteen, she'd get a tattoo. Lo and behold, here she is, an eighteen year old rebellious girl who makes crazy impulse decisions.

"On my lower back." She told me suggestively. I fake gasped.

"Hyori! How scandalous!" I giggled.

"So, what about you? How have you been doing?" She asked. I shrugged.

"Same as always. Tired and stressed, but it's manageable." I replied. She gave me this... look. Her eyebrows were slightly raised and she looked like she was... holding something back?

"What? What's with that look?" I asked, confused as to why she was looking at me like that.

"You're so predictable." She sighed. "Doesn't it get boring? Doing the same things every day? Ordering the same coffee, eating the same dessert, sitting at the same table, with the same people?" She questioned. I got defensive, not really taking in her words.

"So what? I like my predictable life, thank you very much." I huffed, looking away from her slightly. She just laughed.

"Okay, whatever you say."

That night, I sat on the bay window in my room, thinking about what Hyori had said earlier.

She's right, you know. Same old predictable (Y/n) day in and day out. A little voice in my head said. I couldn't even argue with that. I never did anything out of the ordinary. I always had the same safe, basic, repetitive schedule since I was a kid. Earlier, I was mad with Hyori for pointing it out, but now, I was mad at myself. My senior year of high school, yet I've never been to a party, or a beach hangout with friends, or a sleepover, or anything like that. Was I really about to end some of the best years of my life with studying for exams and going to the coffee shop every day?

"Let something amazingly crazy and wonderful and unpredictable happen to me." I said, looking up at the sky. I was never a religious person, but maybe, if someone was truly up there, they would hear me. "Let it be so spectacular that it outshines every boring, repetitive moment from my last 3 years of high school."

Little did I know, my wish would be granted.

But not by an angel.

School started off fairly the same as every other day. In my newfound spirit of rebellion against my average life, I decided to wear something a little different today. Instead of my usual white t-shirt and blue jeans, I wore a yellow crop top and some light blue shorts paired with some converse. People stared at me in the hallway, some confused, some gawking, and others judging. I ignored them all and headed into my literature class. Hyori was already there, headphones in as she stared out the windows of the classroom. I walked up to her.

"Hey bitchass." I said, taking out one of her earbuds. She looked me up and down.

"Damnnn hoe. Who you tryna impress today? You're looking too sexy in that." She said, smirking in approval.
