(Y/n)'s POV

I quietly crept past my parents' room and down the stairs. I snuck into the kitchen and quickly got a bag of popcorn before proceeding to go to the basement. I waited at the small window and looked out.

After about 5 minutes, a face popped into view. A playful grin sprawled across his face, and I couldn't stop myself from smiling. I quickly opened the window.

"Hey~" He said flirtatiously as he climbed through the opening. He landed right in front of me, only about a foot or so away.

"Hey mister trouble~" I said quietly, lightly pushing him. He smiled and booped my nose. I then took his hand and brought us into the soundproof movie theater room in my basement. As soon as I closed the door, he engulfed me into a huge hug. I wrapped my arms around him tightly.

"I still don't understand why you go through so much trouble just to hang out with a guy like me." He whispered into my hair. Because I like you, dumbass.

"Because my life would be too boring without you. I'd be wasting all of my free time studying things I already know and going to bed early." I said. There was this overwhelming emotion swirling in his eyes. It was like... an immense amount of pride? Adoration? I don't know. Whatever it was, it filled up the room and left a comfortable silence in its wake.

To be honest, I still don't know where we stand. He sneaks into my house at night all the time, we hug and act like a couple, but he's never said anything about liking me in any way other than platonically.

"So what movie should we watch tonight? It's your turn to pick one out." He asked.

"Hmmm..." I said, pretending to think.

"The Fault in Our Stars!" I said. He groaned and rolled his eyes.

"Really? But it's so.... ugh." He complained, even though I knew he secretly enjoyed the movie. We sat in the front seats and I got the movie ready. I handed him the bag of popcorn as I got the movie started.

During the movie, I laid my head onto Taeyong's shoulder. He grabbed my hand and would occasionally feed me popcorn. By the end of the movie, tears were rapidly escaping my eyes. I looked at Taeyong and noticed a singular tear resting on his cheek. I gently wiped it away and smiled at him.

"Crybaby." I said, teasing him. He huffed and crossed his arms.

"Says the one who was bawling her eyes out." I just chuckled. Taeyong looked at the time.

"I should probably get going. It's almost 2 am already." He said, a frown spreading across his face. I pouted, not wanting him to leave. He looked at me and gave me a small smile.

"Your parents probably wouldn't like it if they knew that their straight A prodigy of a daughter was best friends with the school's infamous troublemaker, who also happens to be a boy." I sadly nodded. There were so many limitations in our relationship. We can't hang out in public. We shouldn't be seen together at school. We can only meet after my parents are asleep. I can never go over to his house. We could never be together.

We got up and left the movie theater room. I quietly opened the window again and turned to Taeyong.

"Goodnight (Y/n). See you tomorrow." He said, pulling me into a hug.

"Goodnight Taeyong." I said into his chest. He then smiled at me before climbing out the window. I closed the window and watched him leave. I let out a large sigh before cleaning up the popcorn bag and sneaking back into my room.
