(Y/n)'s POV
It's been a couple weeks since that night. First, Minho stopped waiting for me after work, which left Soomi in an awkward position. She eventually started to get a friend to pick her up after work everyday. Then, he stopped greeting me as I walked in to work. He stopped talking to me altogether, even if it was work-related. Everyone could tell that something had happened, but no one plucked up the courage to ask. To keep my mind off of him, I started to pick up shifts at the hospital, along with gathering evidence against Mr. Kim. Apparently, someone had audio-recorded him asking her to get in inappropriate positions and was trying to build a case against him. Many of the other female workers had faced similar situations, and all of them decided to start recording conversations they have with him for when we take legal action. Mr. Kim still calls me into his office, but hasn't asked me to do anything since that night.
"Hey, (Y/n), I'm gonna stay with one of my friends for a while." Areum told me as I got back from my shift at the hospital. I was shocked by the suddenness of the announcement, but I understood why she was doing it. I was never home, so Areum was always left to face Mom's drunken wrath whenever she wasn't at school.
"Okay. As long as you're safe. Text me the address later so I know where you are, okay?" I told her. She nodded, pulling me in for a big hug.
"I promise, I'll text you as often as possible. I love you (Y/n)." She told me. I smiled down at her.
"I love you too, Areum.

"(Y/n), we need to talk. My office, now." Mr. Kim commanded, walking into his office. Most of my co-workers were leaving for the day, many of the woman giving me scared looks, to which I replied with what I hoped was a reassuring one. I started recording, put my phone in my cardigan pocket, and went into his office. He was standing at his door, waiting. I walked in, quickly moving as far away from him as I could without looking suspicious. He closed the door and locked it, making me start to panic.
"Unlock the door right now." I tried to say authoritatively, but my voice was trembling. He chuckled.
"You really should have listened to your boyfriend. I mean, he knew what I had done in the past, which was an astounding find by the way. I thought I got rid of all of those articles. Yet, you knew, and still stayed here, putting yourself at risk. Honestly, you're just asking for it at this point. You deserve this." He said lowly, walking towards me slowly. I backed away from him.
"And now, Minho's not here to come in and save the day. He hasn't talked to you in weeks. You're all alone." He almost got close to me, reaching out to grab me. I finally sprinted towards the door, fumbling with the lock. I got the door open, but he harshly grabbed onto my arm, trying to pull me back in. I struggled with him for a couple minutes, trying desperately to run out and away. He started to dig his nails into my arm, trying to weaken me. I pulled away with all of my might, my arm burning from his grip and nails on me. His other hand reached out to grab my other arm, but I somehow managed to get out of his grasp. I sprinted out the exit door, spotting Minho outside, talking with someone in front of his motorcycle. I ran faster and hid behind him, my hands grasping onto his shirt. He looked down at me and instantly wrapped his arms around my body, pulling me close. He looked around to make sure Mr. Kim wasn't there. I was still shaking, holding tightly onto him.
"Minho, you didn't answer me." Mina whined, obviously not understanding the situation.
"Leave." He told her before examining me. She huffed, and I heard her car door slam shut.
"Did he do anything to you?" Minho asked worriedly. I shook my head, not mentioning my arms. He sighed in relief. His arms tightened around me, instinctively making me flinch. I looked up at him and began mumbling apologies, but he stopped me.
"Hey, hey, you have nothing to be sorry about." He took his arms off of me and gave me a reassuring smile. Tears welled up in my eyes, so many emotions swirling through me.
"Come with me." He said, gently taking my hand. I reluctantly let go of his shirt and took his hand. He sat down on the motorcycle and put me behind him.
"You can let it all out." He told me. I put my arms around his waist before crying into his back. He started the motorcycle and took off. I felt the wind in my hair, and this would have been a happy moment if not for the events that had just unfolded. I was still terrified. To think, if I was just a second slower... I shuddered at the thought. Eventually, Minho slowed down in front of an unfamiliar apartment complex. He led me inside and to his apartment, keeping a protective arm around my shoulder. I walked as close as possible to him, afraid that Mr. Kim might pop out at any moment. Once in his apartment, he led me to the couch. He sat down, and I immediately followed. I adjusted our position so that we were both laying down, me on top of him. My tears were starting to slow down, leading to small hiccups and shakes. He kept his arms around me, as if he was protecting me from all of the bad things in the world.
"I should have listened to you." I said in a small voice. Minho's hand combed through my hair, stroking gently.
"No, you're not to blame here. It's his fault. He's a nasty man." He said to me. I then remembered my phone in my pocket, still recording. I took it out and handed it to him. He looked at it, stopped the recording, and placed my phone down on the table next to us before wrapping his arms back around me. I flinched when his arm brushed roughly against where Mr. Kim was holding me. Minho quickly retracted his arms. He got up and knelt in front of me, examining me. When he looked at my arms, his eyes widened. The small amount of blood that came out from the nail punctures was now dried up, and where his hand had gripped me was a mix of reds and purples. Minho quickly got up and returned with his phone and a first aid kit. He took pictures of my arms before gently washing off the dried blood with a damp towel. The contact hurt, but I knew there was nothing Minho could do about it. He then applied some healing cream to my arms, finishing it all off with wrapping gauze around the cleaned wound.
"Wanna go to bed?" He asked. I nodded, and he picked me up, bringing me into another room. He carefully laid me down on the bed, and before he could walk away, I grabbed his arm lightly, pulling him towards the bed.
"Are you sure?" He asked. I just nodded again. He got onto the bed and placed the covers over the both of us. I cuddled up into his side, and he wrapped one arm around me for the umpteenth time today. I listened to his heartbeat, starting out fast, and gradually getting slower until it reached a slow, steady pace. I fell asleep, feeling safe in his arms.
When I woke up, Minho was already awake, gently rubbing his hand up and down my back.
"Good morning." He whispered. I smiled at him.
"Thank you." I said, burying my head into his chest, tightly hugging him. He reciprocated the hug with the same amount of force, careful to make sure I wasn't uncomfortable.
"Of course. Are you feeling okay?" He asked, so much concern and care laced in his voice. I nodded, emotions welling up inside of me from how careful and loving Minho was. Though I was still a bit shaken by the ordeal, I felt so safe with him. We stayed in our embrace, a light conversation maintained. I eventually pulled away, staring at Minho. I couldn't help my eyes drifting towards his lips.
"Are you sure you want this?" Minho asked. I looked him in the eyes.
"Are you willing to stay by me no matter what?" I asked him.
"Of course." He replied instantly, not a moment of hesitation.
"And you're willing to wait for me while I learn how to express everything I feel?"
"As long as you need." He said, his eyes staring straight back into mine, love swirling in his irises. I moved closer to him, our lips only centimeters apart.
"Then yes, I'm sure." I whispered against his lips. He gently put a hand on the back of my head and pulled me toward him so that our lips finally connected, and despite everything, I felt happy, safe, and carefree in that moment, just laying down in Minho's bed, kissing each other like we had waited to do for so long now.
