Time has passed and the investigation for the spy continued. Most of the personal was investigated and nothing suspicious was found. All communication was monitored, which became a problem for me as I had to make a report for Vader. It took a long time for me to get a long-distance holotable to use and even longer to get the troopers away from the room. After several attempts and a confirmation from the Grand Admiral, I finally made the call and was facing the holographic image of Vader standing before me.

“Anything to report?” He asked with an evident hint of frustration in his voice.
Who knows how long he has waited. Or maybe he just finished a mission that turned out to be another test from the Emperor. He did receive such missions from time to time. Emperor wanted to see where his loyalty was. He didn’t receive such missions very often, very rarely actually. But when he did receive such a mission, he would show a calm and loyal face to the Emperor, but would later be very frustrated at anything else.
Two times I had witnessed such temper. The first time, I feared for my life that he finally got tired of me and was about to end me. But after resting at the rejuvenating tank, he would be much calmer. The second time, I knew what it was and made sure that only the necessary people were allowed to even see him. If this was one of those times, then I had to be very careful with my words.

“There is a full-scale investigation as the Grand Admiral has figured out that rebels have a mole in the Imperial ranks. Due to that, it has become a bit harder to get clearance to use communications aboard the ship. Since we are also figuring out how the spy has been able to send messages to the rebels. As for their base, Grand Admiral Thrawn has sent his own spies to different systems to locate the rebels. These spies are assassination droids that are made to appear as protocol droids. Whether they find the base or are ambushed we will know the location.” I reported.

“I see. Anything else to report?” Vader asked.

“No, my Lord.”

I know what he meant. He wanted to know if I had any new vision or information. But so far I just get the same visions over and over again. Maybe little new small information but none are the ones that he wants.

“I hope no one has made it difficult for you, due to your earlier connection with the rebels.” He said.

“No, my Lord. Though someone suggested using me as bait to lure the spy out. Since I had a previous encounter with them back in the day then maybe we could trick them to save me and take me to their base.” I told him.

“And who suggested that?” Vader asked.

“Governor Pryce. But Admiral dismissed the suggestion.” I answered before he would get any ideas of hurting the Governor.

“The idea is good but flawed. You could be useful in that regard and you could send the signal once in their base. But…” He paused at the end.

“The spy won’t know of me. And we already know from the case of Saw Gerrera that the rest of the rebels don’t care what happens to me. Chances of me getting rescued by the rebels are very slim.” I finished his sentence.

There was more but I wouldn’t voice it. What Vader would also recall is that I had made clear to Sabine and Zeb that I had become the enemy now. The rebels would end my life instead of rescuing me. And what bothered me most, was that joining with the rebels whether it was pretended or not, would be a perfect chance for Vader to contradict me. The whole silent contract we had was mostly for me to obey and stay loyal to him. If I disobeyed him, he could end it. Though I would be following his order to infiltrate the rebels, with the small chance of success. If everything went wrong, he could blame me and say that I had violated our agreement. He can read people by their emotions but he also manipulates the odds for his liking and changes the agreements. I have managed to establish a firm and secure way to remain away from the Emperor. I won’t let Vader trick me.
