I made sure Vah'nya was now resting soundly on the bed before I left the room. With so much happening, closing my own eyes didn't sound so inviting. I had been in that place too many times in this short period of time. I decided to borrow Thrawn's dojo, and for once train myself in combat. Ever since Thrawn revealed to me that my people hid their combat techniques in the dances, I had tried different styles of dances and modified them to combat. Not everything worked as combat but it revealed pretty interesting traits of my people. For example, Carf, who usually worked more with Jedi, had many subtle yet devious moves. They, for example, used hairpins not only as decorations but also as a weapon. That seemed a good idea, instead of carrying a knife with me for my protection, a hairpin would be easier to hide. Azel had more breathing exercises and workouts. Verdies had precise moves with less effort. Also some hidden tricks such as drugs and pressure points. Amarde had more combat moves with or without weapons.

As I moved to the center of the dojo and tried the training staff on my hands, I thought about another trait of my people or more like something none of us ever did. None of us received Jedi training, yet I'm sure now that many of us, regardless of what clan we were, were force-sensitive. Mostly, Verdies but all did have the affinity for it. I recalled something that I was taught during my time at the Jedi temple when the masters were figuring out my ability. Something they called "Double vision". It came up over and over again as they tried to learn and teach me about my visions. After a while, that topic was abandoned as they learned that during my sleep, my visions were more frequent. After I began to work with Vader, he too brought this "Double vision" up with me. He thought that I could be able to have my vision even awake. He was mistaken. But it didn't mean that I didn't know how to use "Double vision". I simply never required it. I relied upon visions more than anything else. But now as I learned about the Chiss sky-walkers, it made me think. Could I do it too? Or could it be that "Double vision" also makes me weak as moving objects through force makes me weak? I had never tried that. Well, now wasn't a time to test that. But next time Thrawn trains me, I could give it a try. Or maybe I could tell Vah'nya and ask how she does it. It should be something similar. Of course, I would ask it in secret. Maybe after she wakes up before she goes back to the Steadfast. I hope I have time. I think I should, Thrawn would by now interrogate the surviving prisoners since they were smugglers and had stolen property of the Empire. Then he would surely look around the enemy ships and if he finds anything interesting. That will surely take time.
I thought of all the options as I moved the staff and swung it as if hitting an invisible opponent. If I had learned something with Thrawn it was the use of the staff. He also taught me to wield knives but I think I prefer the staff. It is not as deadly as the knife and I could keep my distance from the enemy. Some Amarde dances used staff as part of the choreography, so I had some ability to wield it. I just needed to learn to use a heavier model and add more force to it.

I don't know for long I had been practicing all by myself. But it was interrupted by a familiar voice.

"I rarely see you train by yourself."

I turned to look at the entrance and I saw Thrawn standing there his arms crossed over his chest. When did he come here? Is the interrogation over?

"I got nothing better to do," I said and swung the staff to a position where it would stand straight next to me. "Have you finished the interrogation?"

"Yes, the prisoners will be sent to ISB for further questioning," Thrawn said as he took a couple of steps toward me.

"Aren't you going to see the ship?" I asked.

"The techs and troopers are working on the traps and securing the joined ships. I was informed that they will be done in an hour or so. I came to speak with you about something while we have now the opportunity," Thrawn said.
