"She sewed her mouth shut?" Master Windu asked.
The Jedi council had gathered quickly after Obi-Wan and Anakin had returned. Some masters as Yoda, Plo Koon, Adi Gallia, and Ki-Adi Mundi were already present in the temple. While the rest, Master Windu, Kit Fisto, Eeth Koth, and Luminara were present through holograms. Obi-Wan was sitting among them at the meeting for he had to tell everyone what had transpired.
"Yes, two stitches to the left side and two to the right side," Obi-Wan said. "A small gap was left in the middle. Only a whisper was able to be heard and that too was almost hard to understand."
Many masters glanced at each other before Yoda spoke.
"Unfortunate, the fate of Verdies is. Brothers to clan Amarde, Carf, and Azel they are. All strong in the force. Help to the Jedi they gave. Now, all gone. Some even Jedi once were." He said.
"Could this be Separatists' way to remove the allies of the Jedi?" Windu asked.
"Verdies were never mixed in the politics of the world they lived upon. I believe that was what caused their demise." Obi-Wan said.
"Other clans had the same principles in their worlds too. I recall in my times of padawan, how we were received with hospitality by Carf when other natives were not so kind." Luminara said.
"And they all lived in Separatist territories." Adi Gallia sighed.
"Did the girl, held anything of importance to the clans? Holy scriptures? Artifacts?" Ki-Adi Mundi asked.
"Just her clothes on her and few accessories. Oh, and a book." Obi-Wan said.
"A book of what?" Windu asked.
"Book of songs and dances. According to the bothan who helped her away, it was the only thing that didn't suffer any damage." Obi-Wan said.
"Then that will be all left of the clan," Luminara said.
"I'm more concerned about her force sensitivity. Some possess the ability to see visions but I never heard of someone to see too far to the future. Future is, in the end, changing as time goes." Kit Fisto commented.
"I agree, also this anomaly of her to appear like a grown-up when she is still a child at heart." Plo Koon said.
"Odd indeed. We should keep an eye on her. See what she is capable of. And then see what can be done." Windu said.
"Another thing I should add. After sewing her mouth shut, she used datapad to ask a favor." Obi-Wan recalled.
"What did she ask?" Wind asked.
"To teach her to use force and to keep away from the Sith," Obi-Wan said.
The last mentioned made everyone restless. The first favor was understandable and reasonable. But the moment Jedi's enemy was mentioned, it made clear why I was desperate enough to sew my mouth shut. Twice Grievous had found me. Count Dooku may not have meant to destroy all clans that held force-sensitive people, but to know that there was one with strong visions would mean that I was now targeted.
--From then forward, my life changed. Each day, a different master was in charge of my training. Sometimes it was about how I could concentrate and see more clearly the vision or how to interpret it. I learned that some of the visions were not from the future but from the past. Sometimes my training was more about filling my knowledge of my people. Since I was the only one remaining it became important for me to gather and learn whatever was left to learn of other clans. Besides my book of songs and dance, Jedi archives also had some information about the history of my people. When it came to Verdies, I already knew most of it. But when it came to others, I had to learn some cultural differences that molded my people in their homeworlds. When it also came to dances and songs I already knew since my parents had taught me. Craftsmanship was also already in expertise but what was most important was the principles that molded our lifestyle. Fortunately, all four clans had the same principles about life, friendship, respect, and balance in the force.
