Ezra took Jacob's hand and once again that spark was there. She wanted to remove her hand, but he just held on tighter. He looked ahead as they walked across the hall to the other side of the floor. Jacob could feel Ezra's gaze on him, but he didn't look at her. He didn't want her to know that he felt something sharp and strong every time they touched, especially if she didn't feel the same sensations. They showed her their parents' offices, as well as, the sun room which she absolutely adored. It was covered in plants and comfortable seating areas that just begged a person to relax and sit for a spell. When they made it to the far end of the hall and opened the mahogany doors to the library each boy covered their ears at the shrill scream Ezra let out.
"Will you stop doing that?!" Jace grabbed her by her arms and snapped. Ezra couldn't help but shiver at his touch, her entire body covered in goosebumps. She closed her mouth slowly before licking them and watched as Jace's eyes followed her tongue. "Sorry. I'm just so excited!" Ezra squealed out of his clutch as she took in the hundreds of books that littered the walls. "You like?" Jackson asked already knowing the answer. "Like? I freaking love!" Ezra fluttered around every corner of the library taking in the classics and new age literature sprinkled about. "If you ever need me, I'll be in here." Jackson and Jacob chuckled, while Jace rolled his eyes. "We've got more to see, baby girl." Ezra looked up at Jackson and her cheeks grew hot at his gaze and nickname. "Lead the way."
Jace mumbled to himself, but it was obvious neither of his brothers were listening to him. They made their way down the stairs to the first floor where they went to the back hall and visited the state-of-the-art gym. Ezra's mouth was agape. Jacob couldn't help but smile, because he liked seeing this. He liked seeing her take it all in for the first time. She looked at it like the house was the best thing in the world. He knew deep down to her the house was incredible, but to him and his brothers it was just a place they lay their heads at night. They hadn't viewed the home the way Ezra was currently in years. "I'm about to be working on my fitness!" Ezra squealed as she stood in front of a workout machine.
She pulled down the bar as she squatted and Jackson bit his tongue, while Jacob and Jace bit the inside of their cheeks. She was oblivious to the effect her perfect, curvy body had on them and they both loved and hated it. "Okay, let's go see our favorite room." Jacob said removing her from her current position and heading out the door. They walked a few paces before they entered a home theatre complete with a popcorn machine. "This is so dope!" Ezra plopped down on one of the comfy chairs and sighed happily. "We're totally having weekly movie nights." Jackson chuckled as he sat beside her. "We haven't had one of those in years." Ezra shook her head. "Well, I'm reinstating it! Wednesday nights are now reserved for movie night!" Jacob loved her enthusiasm and half hoped her brightness would shed some light on their darkened home.
"What's next?" Ezra asked getting up with a bounce that Jackson did not miss as he had the perfect view of her ass. The way it bounced set his skin ablaze. "Pause on the tour for now, sweetheart. Dinner is almost ready. We'll continue if you're still up to it." Ezra tilted her head like a confused puppy. It was adorable and Jacob fought the urge to pull her close and kiss her nose. "You all eat dinner as a family?" They all nodded. "Wow, I never would've guessed." Ezra said with a shrug. "How come?" Jackson asked getting up as they all migrated into the hallway. "Well, you don't really come across as the loving family that eats meals together, no offense. Well, you two maybe, but Mr. Grumpy back there absolutely not." Jace rolled his eyes as they began walking.
"It's the one thing our Mom asks of us. Breakfast and Dinner. Together as a family, so we oblige." Jackson informed pointing her in the right direction when they reentered the main hall. "There's something special about a mother's relationship with her sons. I think that's sweet." They made their way into a beautiful dining room and Ezra smiled widely at the homey décor and dinnerware. She heard Barry whine beside her and crouched down. "What's wrong, little bean?" Jackson chuckled before petting the Pitbull. "He's not allowed in here. And if he's as smitten with you as the rest of us are than the idea of being away from you bothers him." He gave her a wink and went to take his seat.
Ezra sat their petting Barry and thinking over Jackson's words. Smitten. She must have heard him wrong. They couldn't possibly be smitten with her. She was just Ezra. Ordinary. And they were Greek gods carved from stone with voices that did things to her body she didn't think possible. Ezra shook her head and stood up. "I'll be right over here, buddy. Okay?" Barry whined but laid down in understanding. Celeste and Jansen had joined the table while she was busy with Barry leaving the only available chair next to Jacob.
"So, Ezra how are you liking everything?" Jansen asked placing his napkin across his lap. "This house, I mean let's be honest it's a mansion, it's amazing. We haven't even been to every room yet. From what I have seen, I can tell you all put a lot of love into this house, so thank you for opening it up to me." Jansen didn't think they made teenagers like Ezra. He didn't know what to say and judging by the misty-eyed expression on his wife's face she hadn't either. Before he could speak up, Jace interjected. "Looks can be deceiving, Princess. Don't drink the Kool-Aid just yet." Ezra looked at him pointedly and sighed. It was obvious there were issues with the Scott family, but Jace seemed to harbor a resentment that Ezra wanted to get to the bottom of.
"How'd you like your room?" Celeste asked causing Ezra's eyes to light up. Ezra gushed about the color scheme and the furniture, while the boys couldn't help but listen. Jacob likened it to taking that first sip of McDonald's sprite. She was so refreshing. Jackson didn't think anything could calm him like a nice smoke from his bong, but Ezra was proving to be his new favorite drug. Jace didn't like the effect that she had on her brothers or him for that matter. It hadn't even been five hours and they were all putty in her hands. His brothers and him knew the facade that was their family. They played the part for the cameras when necessary and for the most part stayed out of each other's way. Now his parents went and added a new player who was all sunshine and rainbows and could definitely get hurt in the process of trying to assimilate. This wasn't going to end well and he knew it.
