Ezra took her dishes down and washed up before heading back to her room. Jacob had text her to be ready by 2 pm sharp and she was excited. She was happy that between her words and his that Owen was going to leave them be. She wasn't sure what Jace said to Charlotte, but Lucy Jane said the cheerleader left the house like her ass was on fire. Their talk this morning helped. They were both so genuine and real. The remaining man in her life was Jackson and she didn't know where they stood.
Ezra spent the remainder of the morning napping, playing on her keyboard, singing and texting in the group chat with Henry, Kathy, Zoe, Sean and Lucy Jane. Apparently, Sean had informed Henry of her relationship status, while Kathy and Zoe peeped game from the start. They were all sworn to secrecy and knew what could possibly happen if Jansen and Celeste caught wind. She sat on her couch in torn high-waisted jeans with a cream-colored patterned cashmere sweater and cream wedged booties. The weather was getting colder and Ezra was not a fan, but thanks to Celeste she'd be welcoming the fall and winter weather in style.
"You ready, sweetheart?" Jacob stood in her doorway taking her in. She looked up from her phone and smiled at him. He wore khakis with a white button down and a navy-blue sweater over it. "You look very preppy. I like it. It suits you." She said as she made her way over to him and pushed his hair to the side. He smiled down at her before capturing her lips. The kiss was gentle and sweet until it wasn't. Jacob's hands roamed everywhere until he cupped her ass with both hands greedily. "Let's just stay in." Ezra whined as she pulled him closer by wrapping her arms around his neck. Jacob kissed her deeply before pulling away. "Nope. We're going and we need to leave now cause it's a ways away." Ezra pouted causing him to laugh before slapping her ass. They made their way to the garage passing Jackson on the way there. Ezra shot him a small smile, which he returned before jetting upstairs.
"You two will talk and everything will be okay." Jacob assured her after seeing her dejected face. "I hope so." He squeezed her hand and led her to his truck. They were on the road in no time and Ezra made it a point to really talk about the insecurities she had pertaining to Owen and their relationship, as well as, express just how much he meant to her. "I care a lot about you, sweets. It scares me how much, but I know you're worth it. I know our relationship is worthwhile." He took his eyes off the road for a second to look at her and smile. He kissed her hand as he drove along the highway thankful to have her in his life. They spent the hour and a half long drive building their friendship and both loved it.
They pulled up to a local music shop. Ezra was confused, but trusted Jacob. "Come on, sweetheart." He held her hand as he led her into the store. There were instruments all over the place making the shop look bigger than it did on the outside. "Hi, are you Jacob?" An older man asked from behind the counter. "Yes, I am." He smiled at them before walking up to shake their hands. "I pulled what you were asking for. We can go take a look in the back." They followed the man to a back room and Ezra was still confused until her eyes landed on her father's guitar. "How?" She whispered tears pooling in her eyes. "You told us he won it at some music festival in Dallas when he was younger. I did a lot of research and hunting down and this store along with one in Cleveland are the only two shops that have the one your dad won that day."
Ezra was full blown crying at this point. He pulled her into his arms and held her while smiling at the shop owner. "I'll go ahead and pack this up for you." Jacob nodded as he rubbed Ezra's back. It took a few moments, but she finally settled down. "I love you." Jacob was caught off guard. He just stared at her. "I'm sorry if that scares you or if it's too soon. I just had to say it." Jacob caressed her cheek. "Do you mean it?" Ezra saw the uncertainty in his eyes and wondered who put it there. She then remembered the whole debacle with Owen and sighed. "I love you, Jacob Sebastian Scott." She stepped up on her tippy toes and kissed him passionately. It was a weighted kiss filled with feeling and emotion. "I love you too, Ezra Austin Cole." She smiled up at him. "To think I didn't even have to eat you out to get you to tell me you loved me. Me thinks I'm winning in the boyfriend department."
