bokuto -> "don't be so hard on yourself."

while he's good at what he does, he has people around him to ground him. sometimes he messes up, whether it be in volleyball or your relationship or just life in general. for him, it feels like his world is completely destroyed and it's all on him. he's not afraid to show his true feelings and he loves you even more when you can reassure him that he's giving it his all a majority of the time.

daichi -> "you don't have to be anything for anybody"

he's a very dependable person who others can rely on but sometimes he doesn't realize that he's in too deep. he can't always handle everything that's put on him. he can get caught up in feeling obligated to be there for someone all the time which causes putting himself on the back burner. you know he doesn't want to disappoint anyone but you take it upon yourself to remind him that his reliability shouldn't always be guaranteed and that's okay.

atsumu -> "it's okay to not always be strong"

as a setter, he feels a lot of responsibility to make sure that he is the driving force for his team's success. he often applies this mindset to life and while it's fulfilling to feel successful, sometimes you can fall short. he'll try to deal with it on his own, theoretically for the sake of your relationship. fortunately, as his s/o, you know all of his tells when he's upset and saying this simple sentence is enough to make him reveal everything with you in his arms.

tendo -> "you're worth it"

he's often misjudged by others and even more so when they see that you're his s/o. he actually doesn't mind when people underestimate him because that means he has the chance to prove them wrong, which he has done several times before. that's not to say that he's without insecurities as even when he has you, there's still a possibility that he could lose you. although he's pretty confident in himself, you feel it's still important to let him know how valuable he is to others and especially you.

goshiki -> "sometimes it's okay to not try so hard."

he wants to be the best and that's it. he already has a lot of potential but sometimes he falls under the pressure of others. that's when he can get self-deprecating and will confidently proclaim that he's no good whenever he falls flat. you have to emphasize that he is still great and valued by others even when he doesn't always perform his best.

iwaizumi -> "let yourself cry."

he's cried very few times in his life and he'll wholeheartedly admit that as if it's a huge achievement. while he's in a relationship with you, he feels that he has to remain strong even when things get tough, otherwise what good is he to you? he's not a brick wall and his emotions do get to him but it's hard for him to be vulnerable. when you tell him these three words it's like he received permission and allowed a dam to break as he cried in your arms which hold him so tight.

osamu -> "it doesn't make you weak to ask for help."

he's not as expressive about his feelings as his brother can be. a lot of things have come naturally to him so he's never really known many struggles. therefore, he doesn't know how to deal with stress or not knowing what to do in a certain situation. he doesn't know how lucky he is to have you in his life until you tell him what he needs to hear and provide all the support that you can give.

yamaguchi -> "you're good enough."

he can fall into the trap of comparing himself to others and concluding that he's not worth much if he's not on their level. he's sensitive and lets it get him down which completely breaks your heart. he is so wonderful and just because he's not great at something, doesn't mean he's worthless. everything he can give in that moment is good enough and will only get better over time.
