kuroo likes to try to be the classic romantic and hug you from behind whenever he can. he almost gave you a heart attack the first time he hugged you from behind as a surprise so now he only does it when you two are alone and enjoying a cute moment. he's a big fan of spooning, more importantly being the big spoon, and holding you from behind while you're in bed or watching something together. when you're tired and too lazy to move, he'll wrap his arms around you from behind and steer you to wherever you need to go instead of carrying you. you are his favorite little spoon which he will never grow tired of.

kenma often stays up late or wakes up heinously early to play games so his hugs can be sleepy. actually, most of the time they are sleepy, given that he's never been the most energetic person in the first place. he's mostly adjusted to being habitually tired while also playing volleyball. you don't really mind though because he gets all cute and needy when he's really tired. it's only a problem when you're out in public and he accidentally falls asleep on you so you have to wake him up, which is never fun. then he's more grumpy and irritable but he'll agree to compromise by just holding your hand instead.

iwaizumi needs a hug from you most when he's grumpy from dealing with nonsense all day, whatever it may be. it's nice when you're also in the mood for some hugs and distempered cuddles. however, it ruins his mood slightly more when he comes home and you're busy with something so he'll just go sulk and decompress in bed by himself. he lets himself be mad just a little bit longer until he realizes that you can't help when you're in the middle of something. besides, seeing you come into the room after some time lets him know that you still want to acknowledge him, even if it's not your main priority at the moment.

nishinoya is never shy to leap into your arms or tackle you with a hug. it's a daily affection that might not be for everyone but fortunately, you're able to handle his chaotic nature pretty well. the good thing is his leaping hugs are never a surprise, as he's already got your attention with his excited yells to let you know he's nearby. when you're alone and get into a little play fighting, his intentions of winning usually involve getting a hug and a nice squeeze out of you. he's often the one to turn into a koala, wrapping his limbs around you and pressing his head into your back or chest. he is your energetic ball of love that never lets up on his affection.

wakatoshi is the best person for a good comfort hug. he's very tall and broad so whenever he wraps his arms around you, it's the exact same feeling like a warm blanket. if you're ever stressed out or worried about something, you can count on him to open up his arms to you. if it's really serious, he'll rock you back and forth while you're in his lap as he guides you to breathe slower. oftentimes you end up falling asleep because he is literally a giant teddy bear and that makes him the best big spoon.

akaashi loves your hugs because you'll often hide your face in his shoulder, neck, or chest depending on your position. his hugs are always a perfect middle ground, not too tight nor too lax, so it feels nice just to rest your head somewhere against him. he enjoys that you're so physically comfortable around him. there was one time while you were cuddling when you decided to put your head underneath his shirt to rest against his bare skin. he was left absolutely dumbfounded at this behavior, leaving a blush across his cheeks. you always managed to surprise him with how much cuter you could become.

atsumu likes to receive a small kiss after you've hugged him. he prefers it to be on your lips but your cheek or neck are good options, as well. he tries to make the time for a long hug but sometimes they're too long and he doesn't get a kiss afterward. there are days when he can have both but a kiss after is almost necessary, otherwise, he'll be pouty for the rest of the day until he sees you again so he can make up for those lost kisses. he just loves showering you with affection because it's what you deserve for being such a wonderful and sweet s/o to him.

tendo becomes so excited to hug you that he often lifts you off of the ground. he's a little like noya, being somewhat eccentric with his affections but again, it's nothing you can't handle. in fact, you really enjoy it and look forward to his welcoming hugs, even if they can be a little too tight and disorienting if he decides to spin you around a couple of times too. he will always steady you if you feel dizzy or unstable afterward and to him that's like a second, more normal hug. it's never a bother to you because you know he puts in a lot of effort meanwhile you're simply trying to keep up with him.
