- he doesn't take crap from anyone, especially oikawa

- you would reassure him by saying that your relationship with oikawa involves joking around with each other and harmless banter

- unfortunately, you don't know oikawa like he does, and that oikawa can be pretty condescending and rude hidden underneath his charm

- you took his warnings with a grain of salt until one day when oikawa crossed a line and blatantly referenced to you being too clingy with iwa

"what did he say to you?" he asked as you sobbed.

"he, he said that you'd push me away if i clung to you any tighter," you recanted.

"why would he say that?" he questioned out loud. it didn't really make sense for oikawa to mess around with his s/o but the odds are never zero with him.

"i don't even remember what we were talking about before that, he just said it all of a sudden."

"where is he?" he grunted, looking around.

"no, haji. it's okay--"

"it's clearly not okay if you're over here crying," he remarked. "hey, shittykawa!"

he had located his teammate from across the gym before storming over to him.

"whoa, what's going on, iwa-chan?"

"did you say something to them?"

"whatever do you mean?" oikawa answered with a question, acting as if he had no idea.

iwaizumi grabbed the collar of oikawa's shirt, pulling him closer. "then why are they crying?"

oikawa looked over to you before looking back at his angry vice captain. "i don't know. maybe it's that time of the month?"

"you're such an asshole," iwa seethed, pushing him away.

"oh, c'mon. don't be like that, iwa," oikawa taunted.

"no. i'll continue to stay mad until you apologize."

"is this really that big of a deal? it's not my fault that they're so sensitive," oikawa stated, continuing to act like he did nothing wrong.

"can you blame them though? claiming that i'll leave them because they're 'too clingy' is a pretty insensitive thing to say if you ask me. what if i said that your s/o is a desperate leech?" iwa countered.

"hey! you know that's not true," oikawa retorted.

"see? doesn't feel great, huh?" iwa smirked, seeing as oikawa had fallen for the trap.

oikawa sulked, crossing his arms before sighing. "okay, okay."

iwa nodded to him before coming over to get you, wrapping a comforting arm around your shoulders to lead you back over to oikawa.

"he has something to say, right, annoyingkawa?"

"i still don't like these names, iwa-chan," oikawa reminded him before looking to you. "i'm sorry, y/n."

"sorry for...?" iwa encouraged.

"for doubting you and iwa-chan's eternal love for each other."

"okay, now you're pushing it," iwa warned, his cheeks tinted with pink.

you giggled at the exchange, making iwa's features soften at the sight of your smile.
