I'm at the Old Victoria, thinking about my options here, determined to ask someone out. The lady behind the bar is quite young, and admittedly pretty.

Watching and waiting

She always seems eager to please, overly friendly, as if she is waiting to be chatted up and asked out.

The woman is wild, a she-cat tamed by the purr of a Jaguar

The most attention she will give is to a rich bloke, or somebody very handsome. Fun is her aim, as well as bagging a man, any man that fit her criteria.

Our eyes meet and I know that she has me in mind for the night. There is something about the way she is looking at me, like I'm a piece of meat.

Working in a bar is ideal if you want a man. You meet people from all walks of life, and I have been here long enough now to spot the rich or important men. Although, I sometimes like to flirt with normal guys if they are very attractive.

Speaking of which, there is a really attractive man sitting over in the corner table. He keeps looking out by the door, like he is waiting for someone to arrive.

Not any more you're not. I make eye contact and send him a smile.

Somebody relieves her - I assume for her break. Just like I suspected she would, she walks straight over to me with a pint in hand.

'Hey.' She says and gives me a very wide smile. 'I got this pint for you.'

He doesn't seem too impressed by me. I will have to up the flirting and make it more obvious.

'I don't see you here that often. You'll have to change that.' I flash him another smile.

'I don't often come on week days, which is I guess when you work.' I reply.

The beauty is there but a beast is in the heart

She is very attractive but I don't think she is the type of person I could fall in love with. I know I always think that, but she reeeeeally isn't that girl this time.

'So how about you visit on Thursday, around 8pm when I finish? Maybe you can take me out somewhere other than a bar.' I just go for it, because he clearly doesn't realise I am flirting.

'No thanks.' Excuse me?

You'd better change it back or we will both be sorry. 

'Why not?' I ask.

'You are not my type.'

'How do you know?'

'Fair point.'

Don't you want me baby?

'Ok, how about we just hang out instead? Then maybe I can ask you out again if you get to like me.' This one was playing hard to get and it really intrigued me.
