(The angst continues.)

"Thanks for coming, Leah."

"You said we were going to stalk someone. Of course I had to come." Leah grinned.

"Hey, I said we were following someone to ensure their safety."

"Yeah yeah. Same thing."

Leah brushed it off and asked, "So who we stalkin'?"

"We're not...my friend... We're following my friend. He's on a date."

"Cool." Leah nodded excitedly.

After Yori had talked to Leah, she looked up the Winter Soldier and after reading everything on the internet and going to the museum, she concluded that he wasn't a bad person. He couldn't be. He had helped save the world. And she had met him. She couldn't try to convince herself that he was bad. So when Bucky reached out to her, to apologise to her for hiding his identity, she was quick to forgive and the two became fast friends. She liked him for a while but realised that she didn't have the mental strength or capacity to deal with his emotional baggage. She had a lot on her plate. So she figured they could stay friends and she'd be there if he needed it. Like in times like these.

They took Leah's car to be less conspicuous. They tailed Sam and Sharon and parked a little farther from them.

"Okay, so, are we gonna climb the pipe? Or we cou-"

"We're just going in to get dinner. That's better than hanging off pipes, why would you even want that?"

"Well...I thought we'd do cool spy stuff."

Bucky shook his head, "Come on in."

They entered the restaurant.

"Reservation under Barnes." Bucky told the hostess. She nodded and led them to a table. And as luck would have it, their table was located very close to Sam and Sharon's.

"Bucky, look. That's Captain America! Do you think he'd mind giving me an autograph? You work with him, don't you?"

"I need you to be calm. We're tailing them."

"What?"

"He's my friend and I don't trust the woman with him. So I'm here."

Leah burried her head in the menu and kicked Bucky under the table.

"What was that for?"

"For making me stalk freaking Captain America. The hell?"

"I told you we were tailing a friend."

Leah groans. "Great. Now I'll be embarrassed in front of him. Also, why is everything so expensive?"

"Don't worry. Just order what you want. It's on me."

Leah narrowed her eyes, "Is this a ploy to get me to come on a date with you? Did Yori set you up?"

Bucky made a face, "What? No. Don't get me wrong, you're great, just not my type. And Yori hates me. I murdered his son, remember?" Bucky's jaw tightened. Leah reached out and placed a hand on his.

"Hey, you weren't in control."

Bucky smiled and rubbed her hand.
"Let's order. Just keep an eye on them. Try to be inconspicuous. Tell me if they leave, okay?"

Leah smiled.

                  *************

Sam had noticed Bucky immediately. He was ready to tease his partner. While neither of them would admit it, they had developed seperation anxiety. When Bucky didn't respond to his text, Sam was really worried. So, when he saw Bucky enter, he figured he was here for him. But turns out it wasn't the case.
