Byeol doesn't know how to react to Yugyeom's confession
"I—uhm, wow," was all Byeol could say. How was she supposed to respond to one of her members telling her that they liked her? She was still trying to figure out if that's what was even said or if she was just in a dream right now.
Yugyeom was still staring at her looking mortified. "I—I'm going for a walk! A quick one! Bye!" He nearly vaulted to the door and jumped out. Byeol wouldn't have put it past him to have vaulted out the window or something with how scared he looked.
She didn't mind that he ran away because she wanted to, too. She was still trying to process his words. It had been seven years since they'd been a group. Quite a few of them living together. Even longer if she counted their trainee days and when they all lived at the dorm.
She was always around Yugyeom. They had trained together. They debuted together. They lived in the dorm together and even though they didn't share a room in the dorm, they were always together. Her, him and Bam.
Then he practically all but begged her to move in with him to an apartment when the members started leaving the dorm. She knew he didn't really like to be alone when it came to moving out. He liked to be around people. It made him feel more comfortable.
He had always told her that it was to cut costs. They wouldn't have to pay as much rent and he'd at least be able to cook her ramen without burning it like she always did. Or without the noodles becoming soggy that they practically broke apart before reaching their mouth.
But was that true? Had he really only wanted her to move in because he was nervous about being on his own like that? Because he wanted to cut costs? Or was it because of this supposed crush that he now had? Had he had back when they were first starting out?
She had so many questions she wanted answered but now Yugyeom had run out the door for a 'walk' and she was sure he wasn't coming back tonight. At least not until he was sure that she was fast asleep. But she needed to know. So, she called BamBam. He was the other one who Yugyeom was closest to so, he should know some of those answers, right?
"Moon," BamBam sing-songed into the receiver. "I miss you so much and now you're calling me. It must be fate," he teased.
"Shut up! Crisis! SOS! Help!"
She could practically feel BamBam's face hardening. "What's wrong? Where are you? Where's Gyeom?"
"I'm fine! Just surprised. Yugyeom went. . .out?" Byeol answered.
"Why are you so distressed then?" BamBam asked, clearly confused.
"He told me he has a crush on me," Byeol said and she cringed a little. Saying it out loud herself made it real. Not that it wasn't real, but real in a sense that she wasn't dreaming and Yugyeom had really just told her that.
"Oh, finally," BamBam said. Byeol was confused as to why he sounded like this was no big deal. That this was just something they talked about in every day conversation.
"Finally?! What do you mean finally?!" She screeched.
"YAH! My ears! I have a comeback coming up, you know!" BamBam hissed into the phone. "THIS IS SERIOUS!" She shouted and he shouted through the phone again for her to shut up.
"I don't know why you're so surprised," he said, "It's been pretty obvious he's had a crush on you for years now."
"Y-years?" Byeol squeaked. BamBam only sighed, forgetting that he was talking to probably one of the most oblivious people he's ever known in his life. "Yes, babo. Years. Lots of years."
"L-lots o-f y-years?" She stuttered and BamBam sighed again. "You're really dense, you know? That kid has lovesick puppy eyes for you, man. He always has. We were all just waiting for him to finally say something."
"Wait, you all know?!" She asked in disbelief and he chuckled. "Yeah. I mean, I'm pretty sure we've all had a crush on you at some point in time. You're literally the only girl we were around for more than five minutes at a time for a while. Guess Gyeom-ah's just never went away."
Byeol's mouth was hanging open in shock. They had all had a crush on her at some point? All seven of them?! That was news to her and now she could slightly see that yeah, maybe she was a little dense. Or a lot.
"A-all of you?" She asked and BamBam groaned in frustration.
"Moon, I love you and I really want to gush over this with you but if you're going to repeat everything I say then I'm hanging up. I could be practicing." He was only teasing and she knew that, but she was just in shock.
She had no idea about any of this.
"Look, I do need to practice, really. I'll come over after and we can all hold hands and sing a song or something. It's fine, really. Nothing to stress about. See you soon!"
He hung up and Byeol only stared at the black screen of her phone. It might not be anything to stress about but they were all forgetting a key part to why this was stressful.
She has a boyfriend.
