Byeol taking care of her members
If there was one thing in life that Byeol would thank the gods for, it was GOT7. She loved her members more than anything: more than her life, more than her dreams and aspirations. She was happy that they had come into her life and that they were a permanent addition.
Whenever one of them received hate, she stepped in and would take the brunt of it. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, not caring how it would make her look or if it would throw everything she's worked for down the drain. When it came to her members, it was worth all the risks.
She'd never allow any of them to feel like they needed to shoulder the burden alone. She'd never allow any of them to feel like they didn't have someone in their corner. While she's overly affectionate at times, she knew when she needed to tone it down and be serious. But her affections were just one way she showed she cared about her members.
Youngjae was one of Byeol's favorite members if she had to pick them. He would definitely be at the top of her list. He was always looking out for her, taking care of her and just seemed to get her. She never felt like she needed to explain herself of go into tiny details. Youngjae just knew and she would forever be grateful for that.
But just like Youngjae seemed to just know, Byeol had the same sense. She knew when his energy was down or when his mind was distracted. She could tell when something was off or that he wasn't fully present. She wanted to help him anyways she could just like he did for her. He was her brother and family doesn't get left behind in Byeol's book.
He first started having issues with his throat a few months ago. It was hurting and causing him a lot of pain. He was starting to stress himself out because they were in the middle of recording their new album. With promotions coming he knew he'd be singing live and it was only adding to the stress.
His voice would crack sometimes or he would have no voice at all the day after recording for hours. Byeol was worried and she knew he was too. It was written all over his face. She had looked up home remedies and he had been willing to try. Warm tea with honey. Gurgling salt water. Letting her massage where they thought his vocal cords were. Anything.
It seemed to help temporarily, but at the end of the day, his throat would still hurt and Byeol was left with no other option than to bring him to the doctor. Thankfully, the doctor had said everything they were doing would help and he offered some more things to help even further. Youngjae was grateful Byeol had taken him to the doctor and even more grateful that she was now keeping medicine and stuff to soothe his throat in her bag whenever they went anywhere.
"Your own walking pharmacy," she winked at him and he only laughed. Next, his neck injury. He wasn't able to perform and he was feeling extremely guilty about it on top of being in pain. Byeol knew he wasn't happy just like none of them would be happy if they needed to sit out. She had tried to remind him to think positively about it.
"You can at least still be on stage! You can still sing and talk to ahgase. It's not like you have to miss everything." Youngjae had only gave her a sad smile and attempted to nod his head. "You're right." She knew that wasn't enough to cheer up their sunshine though. She had made it a point to stand next to him and dance around him the whole the time. It seemed to work because by the end of the their second song he was laughing and had his signature bright smile.
When rumors were going around about his past, Byeol was the one that was there for him. JYP wasn't doing much to help the situation and Byeol wasn't having it. She was at his home every day, researching and investigating. She was confident she could find all the information before JYP did. Youngjae had assured her he was fine and it wasn't affecting him.
She knew that, but she knew that stuff like this always affected anyone in some way. Even if it was just a little. Let alone, she was not about to let some random stranger drag his name through the mud. She didn't care what kind of scandals came out about her or rumors. But the minute they targeted her group members, all bets were off and Byeol would choose murder if she had too.
She had found information refuting the claims swirling the internet but JYP had seemed to do their job right for once and found it before her. They had already posted a statement and Byeol could only pout. Youngjae laughed as he laid his head down in her lap and scrolled through his phone. "I still appreciate your help," he smiled up at her and she smiled back, running her fingers through his hair.
Youngjae knew that Byeol was loyal and took care of her friends, but that day he saw just how deep her care ran for him. For all of them. He loved her like his sister and just as much as she would take care of him, he would do for her ten times over.
