Byeol gets teased for hanging out with her friends

A/N: this takes place during their Predebut days

Byeol happily skipped her way back to the dorm. She had ended her self-practice early because she was supposed to be hanging out with one of her friends today. Her and Jungkook had become close since the last time she had hung out with all the '97 liners.

It was a platonic friendship and Byeol thought the young boy was adorable. He was super funny and always had an appetite that only Byeol seemed to match. They were supposed to be trying a new restaurant that had just opened a few weeks ago today.

"You're home already?" Jaebeom asked as she waltzed through the door and Byeol nodded. "Yep! I'm going out!" Jaebeom narrowed his eyes slightly and cleared his throat. "Out? With who? I thought you said you were practicing most of the day today? We need to practice."

She rolled her eyes and toed her shoes off. "One day isn't going to kill me, oppa. And Jungkook! We're going out to eat!" Jaebeom opened his mouth to say something else but closed it again. He knew Byeol was struggling with being the only girl. Plus, it was easy for him to notice that while she talked to literally everyone, she didn't really have any friends.

He couldn't tell her no just because they needed to practice. "Fine. Just be careful and extra practice tomorrow, okay?" She nodded with a bright smile and skipped off to her room.

Putting on a clean pair of black leggings, she grabbed one of Yugyeom's hoodies and slipped it over her head. She didn't bother putting on any makeup and only flattened down some of the fly aways on her hair.

"That's what you wear on a date?" BamBam snorted beside her and she huffed, smacking the top of his head. "It's not a date! We're just friends." BamBam only grinned at her, "Sureeeeeeee."

Narrowing her eyes at him she asked, "Why can't a girl and a guy just be friends? I live with seven of you! None of us are dating!"

BamBam only shrugged, rolling on his back, "Jungkook is our friend. Just figured the only reason you two talked was because you liked each other or something."

Unsure of why, that comment hurt Byeol a little bit. "Just because he's your friend doesn't mean he can't be my friend either," she muttered, sitting down on the bed. BamBam shrugged again. "I mean, yeah. But we all have a group chat and stuff and hang out more than you do. He hadn't mentioned your little date today."

Once again, Byeol was feeling left out. "I'm a '97 liner too," she mumbled and Bam only chuckled. "Oh, Moon-ssi. It's just us guys, ya know? Nothing personal." With that, he stood up and walked out of the room. Byeol chewed on her bottom lip.

What did it matter if she was a girl? Did they really think that just because she was a girl that she couldn't be a part of this group of friends without it being something more than platonic? Did it make them uncomfortable?

They barely had a group chat for themselves yet Yugyeom and BamBam had one with all their mutual friends? Had Jungkook not mentioned anything to anyone because he did have more than platonic feelings for her? Did he not see her as just a friend? Or would they all tease him for hanging out with a girl?

Sighing and feeling all sorts of confused, she quickly cancelled her plans with Jungkook. BamBam had made it very clear he was their friend, not hers. Changing back into her practice clothes, she went to leave and practice more.

"Your date get cancelled?" Jinyoung teased as she tried to sneak past them. Jinyoung had no idea what was going on in Byeol's head. He had no idea what BamBam had just told her. She knew he was only teasing. But right now, she felt like it was another jab.

"It wasn't a fucking date," she hissed before slamming the door shut behind her.

A few hours later, Byeol was gulping in air and wiping sweat from her brow. The practice room was all too hot for her liking, but what could she do? She couldn't fix the air conditioner.

"Knock, knock!" Yugyeom sing-songed as he walked in and Byeol only rolled her eyes. "A little birdie told me you weren't feeling good," he grinned.

"Well, not exactly. But Jungkook said that he hopes you feel better. I was confused but then Jinyoung hyung said you actually swore at him today so, I was a little worried."

Byeol groaned and sat down on the wooden floor with her legs crossed. "I should probably apologize for that," she mumbled and Yugyeom chuckled, sitting down next to her. "Nah, he'll be fine. He's probably just worried is all. Everything okay?"

She shrugged and Yugyeom pouted. "C'mon! You can tell me!" He leaned his chin on her shoulder and fluttered his eyelashes. She pushed him off of her and snorted. "It's nothing, Yugs. Swear. I'm just tired is all."

Taking her word for it, Yugyeom stood up and offered his hand to her. "It's late. Let's grab some food and then go home and sleep. I heard JB talking about practice tomorrow and it's not going to be a fun time."

Byeol giggled as she grabbed his hand and let him pull her up. "You're buying," she mused and Yugyeom whined. "Why me?!" She only shrugged, slipping her bag over her shoulders with a smile and linking their arms together.

If she apparently wasn't allowed to have the same friends, he could at least buy her food.
