Byeol makes some new friends and meets some old ones
A/N: There are some subtleties in here that you should look out for, for upcoming storylines :D
"Moon, you have to flip at that part. Frontwards." JB said, going through the dance right before her flip. She gulped. She could flip; that wasn't the issues. Landing it seemed to be the issue and her back had been a little sore from how many times she fell on it the day before. "I'll try."
They all lined back up, going through it again and when it came to Byeol's flip she shared with Jackson, she executed it perfectly but didn't land it, landing on her feet but falling backwards. She groaned in frustration, why couldn't they have Mark do this part? He knew how to do all the flippy stuff.
"You'll get it, don't worry." Jackson said with a bright smile, helping her up. "Try leaning forward just a little when you land. It'll help keep you more in balance." She jumped on his back, wincing a little at the pain in hers. "Get off me, Moon! You're sweating more than me." She pouted, sliding off after making sure to wipe her sweaty forehead across his cheek.
"Alright, let's do it again!" JB's voice rang out and they lined up. Byeol felt this time that she didn't flip with enough power and there was no way she was going to land anywhere on her feet. She closed her eyes and bit her cheek as she waited for the impact of the wooden floor on her back. It came quickly before anyone else could react and a lot harder than she expected.
She groaned in pain, breath knocked out of her. "Byeol! Byeol!" Youngjae said, running towards her and sitting her up. She gripped his arm, "don't move me." She whined, trying to take in some breaths, but it hurt every time. "I'm going to lift your shirt and look at your back," she heard JB's voice and nodded her head for permission.
She welcomed the brief moment of cool air that swiped along her back and then hissed in pain, digging her nails into Youngjae's arm and he gritted his teeth. "Byeol-ah," he said, "I know it hurts but please get your nails out of my arm." She muttered and apology, barely loosening her grasp.
"Why didn't you say anything about all these bruises?!" JB asked in shock and Byeol did her best to shrug but that hurt too. "Well, leader, I only landed on my ass and back a million times yesterday and probably a hundred more today so far." She said sarcastically and JB took a breath to calm himself.
"C'mon. I need to take you to the doctor. Your bottom part by your tail bone is a little swollen." Youngjae helped her up as gently as possible, frowning every time she winced or hissed in pain. "Get in the chair," Jinyoung said, a computer chair with wheels in front of her. "You can be, dare I say, fun?!" She teased and Jinyoung rolled his eyes. "Just sit down, Moon."
She gratefully took that option, being rolled all the way to JB's car. He helped her into the doctor, checking her in and helping her back when her name was called. "You know you can tell us if you need help or when you're hurt," he sighed and Byeol shrugged. "It's part of the job. Besides, I learned my lesson the one time. If it got to be too much I would've said something."
JB went to say something when the doctor knocked, walking in. "There's some fluid build up in your lower back," he said showing her the scans to which she directed towards JB; there's no way she'd understand what she was looking at. "I'm going to take you back, we'll drain some of the fluid. Should only take a few minutes. I do recommend that you rest though, so this doesn't get worse. Maybe a week or two."
JB nodded, assuring the doctor it would happen. Byeol followed the doctor to the back of the building into a brightly lit room with a few beds. "OH!" She yelped, covering her eyes and feeling her cheeks heat up. "Hello, Shownu-oppa!" She said, waving her hand. Shownu blushed a bright red, hastily throwing his shirt over his head. "S-sorry I just finished my treatment and you can't have—well—hello, Byeol!" He said and she laughed, uncovering her eyes.
"Are you alright?" He asked she felt her stomach do a flip. "Just hurt my back but doc here is gonna fix me right up!" She said and the doctor sighed, pointing to the empty bed. "I hope you feel better soon. Maybe when we're not as busy we could grab lunch?" He said, throwing his coat on and Byeol nodded. "Sure! I'll call you!"
"Ms. Sihyuk," the doctor said and she sat on the bed. "Sorry, doc. Old friends." She murmured, the tips of her ears red. "I'm just going to insert the needle, take out the fluid, and then just relax until I can get your friend in here to help. It's going to hurt a little." She smiled, nodding. At least the doctor was honest.
And boy, honest was he. Byeol yelled in pain when the needle went in and when he pulled it back out. She had tears in her eyes as she rolled over, waiting for JB to come get her. "Hello!" Byeol jumped at the loud voice, turning to see a girl, around her age smiling at her. "Oh! Hello! Sorry, I didn't know anyone else was in here. I'm Byeol! What's your name?"
"Chisol!" She said happily and Byeol reached out to shake her hand. "I like your hair," she commented. "I've always wanted to dye mine blue but no one let's me." Byeol pouted and Chisol laughed. "Well, I can help you if you want! I'm a hairdresser. Here! Take my number!" The girls exchanged numbers and JB walked in, narrowing his eyes.
He cleared his throat as he walked up to Byeol and the other girl looked starstruck for a moment before snapping out of it. "W-well I should get going! See you soon, Byeol." She ran off and JB helped Byeol sit up and start walking. "Who was that?" He asked, trying not to sound like he was being a dad. Byeol smiled, shaking her head at him and booping his nose with her index finger. "Just a new friend, oppa." He wen to tell her, again, how she can't just trust so easily but Byeol cut him off. And whether that was on purpose he didn't know. "Oh! And she's going to dye my hair, blue! Just like hers."
"WHAT?!"
