C6 - The New Childe

GusuLan Sect sent an invitation to every sect. It was specifically told there that one of the twin Jade of Lan Sect, Lan Wangji, will officially adopt a new childe to be the next clan sect leader. With this information enclosed in the invitation, sects who has still hold grudges with Wei Wuxian deliberately declined the invitation while the main sects accepted the invitation.

Jin Ling, who also received the invitation already travelled from Lanling to Gusu together with Jiang Cheng and few disciples. In respect to the sect leader of Lan Sect, the latter decided to attend but he wanted to roll his eyes as to hearing that Wei Wuxian and his lover will be adopting a Lan disciple. He doesn't need to ask who because it was pretty obvious since the conference that it was their plan. He just doesn't know that the child was an orphan like his nephew. Two orphan kids who grew up way more different. One is gentle and one is hot-tempered. Jin Guangyao spoiled him too much and thought that he might be at fault too. However, thinking that the Lan boy grew up with more than four thousand rules, who would really dare make a mistake.

Jiang Cheng sighed as he turned his gaze towards his nephew who looked ecstatic of going to Gusu. He was there when the invitation arrived in Lanling. Jiang Cheng's eyes darkened remembering the excitement on Jin Ling as he immediately accepted the invitation without hesitation. Jin Ling must have been so closed with those Lan disciples. It shouldn't be a problem and it would be a good idea to get closer with the future sect leader. This will tightened the relationship between the two main sects.

However, as Nie Huasiang have told him back in the conference, the treatment of Jin Ling towards the Lan boy was totally different. Well, he might just be overthinking but he really hope he was.

The day before the banquet, all the expected guest arrived and was brought to their assigned room. All of the Lan disciples have been very busy. The hall where the banquet will be held was decorated in white. Wei Wuxian thought that the banquet doesn't have a life just like the banquet held once before. Everything was white. To him, it doesn't look like welcoming someone but it was more of mourning for someone's death.

Sizhui was called in the Jingshi by his two seniors the night before their bed time. This was his first time he entered the Jingshi. He suspected that the rumor was true but his mind denied it.

"Do you know why we called you here?" Wei Wuxian asked him.

Sizhui shook his head.

Wei Wuxian, "A-Yuan, can you guess why?"

Sizhui felt the warmth of a family being called that way. "I...Can it not come from you?" He glanced at Lan Wangji but his HanguangJun was still that cold face. "Senior Wei–"

"My son should not stop calling me that way."

Sizhui was stunned. He speculated but he never expected.

"Sizhui," Lan Wangji called his attention. Sizhui turned to him. "Though the official ceremony will be tomorrow but starting tonight, you cannot go back to your room with Jingyi. You will stay in Chunshi from now on."

"B-But–"

Wei Wuxian cut him off. "A-Yuan, why don't you start thinking of what you should call us? You cannot call Lan Zhan, HanguangJun and you cannot continuosly call me Senior Wei."

"H-Huh?" Sizhui's eyes widened. He woudn't dare to do that. "Senior Wei, that's inappropriate."

"Inappropriate?" Wei Wuxian knitted his brow and turned to Lan Wangji, whining, "Lan Zhan, look at him. He doesn't want us to be his fathers."

Sizhui immediately denied. "No. That's not true. I mean, its just..."

"Bába." Wei Wuxian hold Lan Wangji's arm and swayed it. "How do you feel being called that way?"
