Journey to the Beautiful Ending

C60 - Lan Xian

The night was deep. Everyone at Cloud Recesses except for those on patrol was already sleeping. Wei Wuxian was sleeping soundly as he had gotten satisfied by Lan Wangji with their everyday activities. With him clinging to Lan Wangji's chest face-to-face made everything safe and comfortable.

The blood pearl which was quite big already was laid beside their bed. It seems like an egg that will hatch anytime.

Inside the Chunshi was Jin Ling who already fell from deep slumber on top of Sizhui. Days had passed and the two had stayed in Lanling for the past weeks so that Jin Zixuan and Jiang Yanli can stay in Cloud Recesses to monitor the growth of the blood pearl. As they decided to travel by feet and not by disappearing, apart from the fun they had, the two was exhausted and tired from all the walking.

However, in the middle of the night, Sizhui head a voice calling him. He slowly open his eyes only to see the white scenery of Heavenly Realm.

"Yuan."

Sizhui turned to see the familiar of a woman who was calling him. He smiled upon seeing Shen Min Jin. "Master."

"Yuan, you have to wake up now and call Yanli and Qing. The life inside the blood pearl is about to see the light."

"Huh? Ah okay. I'm going back now." Sizhui said hastily as his sacred spirit went back to his body and woke up. With Jin Ling on top, he couldn't get up immediately. He patted his arms gently while calling him. Jin Ling just let out an "mmm" sound and move a bit but did not woke up. "A-Ling, if you won't get up now, don't blame me for what I should do next." There was still no response. Sizhui was left with no choice but to wake his husband in shock again.

Jin Ling woke up with his eyes widened in disbelief. He raised his head to scold the person who just caused him to wake up like that. "Lan Yuan, how could you squeeze my ass again like that?" Just as he thought, Sizhui will do it again and he really did.

Sizhui smiled at him apologetically. "We need to wake up, Niang and Aunt Qing. The blood pearl will hatch any moment."

"Huh? O-Okay." Jin Ling immediately stood and fixed himself.

"Its quite cold outside. Wear this." Sizhui hand him the GusuLan Sect robe and without any complaint, Jin Ling wore it. In the previous days, the first time he wore Sizhui's clothes, he was a little ashamed because of the eyes looking at him. It felt a bit weird too but he got used to it since no one dared to call him out especially that Lan Qiren didn't say anything. After all, he was the Lan sect heir's husband.

After few minutes, the Jingshi was crowded outside. There are few senior disciples who were waiting and because of the commotion, Lan Qiren woke up. Some disciple went to deliver the news to Lan Xichen and accompanied his uncle from waiting outside. Everyone seems to be excited.

Wei Wuxian was still feeling sleepy as he and Lan Wangji was waiting for Wen Qing and Jiang Yanli as they carefully cracking the blood pearl. They didn't know yet what kind of creature that were inside the pearl. They were just told to treat it with utmost care and shower it with sunlight in the morning. Pamper and keep it like the most precious gem which they did.

"Excuse me." Wen Ning carried a hot pot of water inside the Jingshi and poured in a small tub. The disciples who were crowding infront of the chamber made way for him. "The water is ready. "

Wen Qing glared at Wei Wuxian as she saw him yawning like it was planning to go back to sleep. "Wei Wuxian, stop yawning and give me the blanket to wrap your child."

Wei Wuxian looked at her unbelievably. "Child?! Wait! Are you saying that the thing inside that blood pearl is a baby?"

Wen Qing, "Don't call this a thing. This is your child, idiot!"

Jiang Yanli chuckled. "A-Xian, this is the gift that Shen Rin An was talking about. A child coming from you and Wangji's blood. The child might not be born from your body, this is still your child coming from your own flesh and blood."

"Maiden Jiang, look!" The blood pearl finally open wide as Wen Qing removed the excess water inside it.

"Oh its a girl!" Jiang Yanli exclaimed in delight.

"Huh?!" Wei Wuxian pulled Lan Wangji and check the baby by themselves.

"A-Xian, Wangji, its a girl!"

A loud cry of a baby was heard in and outside of the Jingshi. Everyone was elated as they heard the cry of a new life. They wanted to enter the Jingshi and see but seeing that Lan Qiren and Lan Xichen didn't move, patiently waiting outside, they just hold their excitement and wait for the direct descendant of Lan Sect to be introduced to them. Jiang Yanli and Wen Qing bath the child to remove the blood while Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian can't hide the amazement from their faces.

Wen Qing, "The blood box didn't dissipated yet. It will still give you a child."

Wei Wuxian giddily asked. Their desire to see little ones running around them can finally come true. "Really? Just how many child it can give us?"

Wen Qing, "It depends on that blood box. New blood pearl will appear once it sense that you are ready to have another child."

Jiang Yanli wrapped the soft blanket around the baby and carefully give the child to Wangji. "What will you call her?"

With an eyes glinted in happiness and a rare smile on his lips, Lan Wangji uttered, "Lan Xian."
