With head throbbing in pain, Lan Jingyi still can't shake off the worn-out feeling. His eyes are still heavy but he knew he already slept long and he also had the feeling that someone is watching him so he force to open his eyes. He saw a built of a man and the cold fingers on his pulse. His eyes are closing again but after some adjusting, he opened it again only to see the man he haven't seen for months already. He actually did thought he won't be able to see him for the next few years so he followed his heart and allowed himself to embrace his warmth at that time.
"A-Yang."
Wen Yang assisted him on getting up. He supported Jingyi with his body and let him leaned to his chest. "How do you feel now?"
Jingyi breathed heavily. He still feel bad but he wouldn't dare tell him that. "Why are you here?"
Wen Yang, "Yuan-ge told me you're sick."
Jingyi, "Aren't you busy with your sect?"
Wen Yang, "Our sect haven't been rebuild much yet so its okay to take some time off. Besides, you're most important than anything else."
If Jingyi could just roll his eyes, he would. His body was not allowing him to do some slight movement. His eyes are so heavy that it wanted to shut off again. "Shut up."
Wen Yang took the tonic on the table. "You need to drink this tonic I made for you. We haven't seen each other for quite a while and I miss you so much. Its frustrating to see you when you are not feeling well like this. How can I touch you?"
Jingyi, "Is having sex with me all in your mind?"
"Of course not. I'm contented just seeing your face but the feeling inside you is blissful." Jingyi does not know if he should be glad that he wasn't feeling well. The man's bluntness could actually make him blush but he remembered that this is Wen Yang who were so good at fluttery words so he shouldn't mind him. "What were you doing anyway? Its not just you but Sect Leader Jin and Young Master Ouyang too."
Jingyi looked away. "Nothing. We were distracted on our cultivation so we bled."
As much as he wanted to believe him, Wen Yang knew that Jingyi was lying. He was aware of the thousands of rules imprinted on the Lan Clan wall. Lying was against GusuLan Sect but Wen Yang would like to give him the benefit of the doubt. He would like to put his trust on Jingyi. Wishing that maybe, his Yi-gege won't keep him in the dark for so long. He didn't followed his question with another question. He tucked him in so Jingyi could rest again.
When Jingyi was sleeping soundly again, Wen Yang took a basin of water and towel so he could clean him. He stayed by his side, patiently help him eat and drink the bitter taste of the tonic.
"A-Yang, I'm coming in."
Wen Yang just checked the pulse of the Lan boy lying on the bed, awake yet doesn't have the energy to get up. He lifted his head and looked at Sizhui with worry. "Its been three days but he still did not recover his spiritual power. His energy was depleting day by day. I can't seem to understand what's going on."
Sizhui understood his concern. He glanced at Jingyi and based on his eyes and the small shake of his head, he's keeping it a secret to the young Wen.
Wen Yang, "Yuan-ge, I know you are keeping something from me. I won't pry but please assure me that he will be fine."
Sizhui gave him a reassuring response. "He will." He walked towards them and pass Jingyi some of his spiritual energy. "Can you leave as a moment?"
Wen Yang nodded and left.
Sizhui waited until the door was closed then he looked at the man who was lying on the bed silently. "Jingyi, you may admit it or not, I know you were longing for him. I asked for his presence here so he could take care of you. You need to be positive and bringing Wen Yang here is the best that I can do."
Jingyi softened his eyes and smiled sheepishly. "Thank you. I...I miss him but I don't want to burden him while he is still busy with bringing back the Wen Sect."
Sizhui let out a long sigh. "Okay. Just don't be hard on yourself. You deserve to be happy too."
"Mm." Jingyi closed his eyes as he asked, "How's Zizhen and Jin Ling?"
"A-Ling is getting better. Zizhen is still like you but I doubt he'll recover in the next two days. Unlike you who have Wen Yang on your side, Zizhen only have his disciples. Diē and A-Niang constantly visit him too while his parents aren't here." The A-Niang Sizhui was referring was his mother-in-law, Jiang Yanli.
Jingyi, "Why not bring his parents?"
"As much as I'd like to, Zizhen doesn't want them to know about his condition. He may not recover if his mother keeps on crying and despite the truth revealed years ago, Sect Leader Ouyang still hold grudges towards my father." Sizhui no longer received a response from his friend, then, he heard him snoring. He fixed his blanket and caressed his friend's head. "Sleep well, Jingyi."
Sizhui went out to found Wen Yang standing quietly away from his friend's chamber. Wen Yang maybe two years younger than them but he's a wise man. Sizhui walked towards him wearing his faint smile.
"Yuan-ge."
Sizhui saw the negative feeling emitting from Wen Yang. Those are the feelings when something was being kept to him yet Wen Yang still respect and didn't try to fish information to quench his curiosities or to clear his worries. "A-Yang, thank you for staying beside Jingyi."
Wen Yang shook his head and force a smile. "There's no need to thank me, Yuan-ge.
Sizhui, "You've met his father, right?"
Wen Yang averted his gaze. He met Jingyi's father. Though he was treated in a civil manner, he felt the undesirable look thrown at him.
Sizhui knew that some elders still have doubts. He can't blame them especially that in the past, Cloud Rececess was once burned down by Wen Sect. "Elder Lan might be strick as Sir Lan but he's kind. Jingyi is an only child so he is really protective of his son." He caressed the young Wen's head. "I know you can prove yourself worthy of his son and..." He caught Wen Yang's eyes. "...Jingyi might be stubborn and hard to you, you're the only one who can make him happy."
Wen Yang, "I, sometimes, doubt and keep on thinking if I'm just forcing myself to him. Before we parted the last time, I feel great because I thought we're already good but then, I realized, we aren't official yet and he was not saying anything about us. Senior Wei taught me how to send him messages through spiritual power but I have never received any of his replies. I feel dejected."
Sizhui was saddened to hear it. He'd like to tell him that he doesn't need to worry because he was fated to Jingyi but he respect his friend if he doesn't want to tell him yet. Jin Ling and him was using that method of sending letters before. They can send their message through spiritual power, one that was taught by Wei Wuxian to the juniors so their exchange of letters could be private. Once the message arrives to the person intended to receive it, the receiver will have to lie a rice paper and the message will be imprinted.
Wen Yang breathed heavily to shake off the negative feeling circulating inside him and smiled brightly. "Thank you, Yuan-ge. Because of what you said, I feel good now. If I'm having doubts again, I will remember your words. I am only the one who can make my Yi-gege happy."
Sizhui smiled reassuringly. "Yes. The only one. Have more patience and wait. I'm certain that Jingyi will make you happy soon."
Wen Yang became more upbeat. "You make me hope for something, Yuan-ge and I'm excited." He stretched his arms. "Okay! I'm alive again. I'll go back now so I'll be the first person he'll see when he wakes up."
"That's the spirit, A-Yang!"
