C35 - Jin Ling's brand mark

The sun already set two hours ago.  Darkness already covered the Cloud Recesses. There are only few senior disciples who are still running an errand but almost all of the disciples are already in their room, preparing for their bedtime at nine. Meanwhile, in Chunshi, Wei Wuxian and Jingyi are waiting for the physician to finish his check-up with Jin Ling who just suffered from an unknown pain for almost an hour caused by the seared mark on his chest.

The mark left them puzzled. The wound does not bleed but it exhausted fifty percent of Jin Ling's spiritual power.

The doctor sighed after checking Jin Ling's pulse. "He's okay now. He already recovered his spiritual power that he lost. Just let him rest."

Jingyi closed his eyea and let out a sigh of relief. "How did this happen?" He asked himself.

Wei Wuxian walked towards the bed while rubbing his chin. "The brand mark, I have never seen something like this."

"The flower. It looks familiar." Jingyi commented.

"It was an orange blossom." The doctor told them.

Jingyi, "Orange blossom?"

"Yes. Did Sect Leader Jin knew any people who admire him?" The doctor asked.

Jin Ling supported his body and sat. "No. Who would dare to like me?"

Wei Wuxian, "My Sizhui loves you so it was not impossible for someone to like you too."

Jingyi second it. "Yeah. Don't look down on yourself."

Wei Wuxian, "What does the orange blossom have to do with someone liking him?"

The doctor stopped from fixing his things and looked at Wei Wuxian and Jingyi who was waiting for his answer. "Orange blossom has many benefits in terms of medicinal plant but in folk religion, it means innocense, eternal love and symbolizes marriage and fruitfulness."

"What?!" Jin Ling knitted his brows.  "Whoever did this doesn't meant love! It was so painful. My head felt like it was going to explode." The young sect leader think that the person who did it to him was crazy. There's no way that a person who was inlove will hurt the person they like. If one person does, they're more likely obsess and crazy.

"If the intention was to mark you then this person succeeded. We need to know who's sect are using this brand mark and what kind of evil tricks they used to have it seared on your chest without doing it personally."

Jin Ling gritted his teeth and clenched his fist in frustration. He will never forgive the person who seared a mark on his body. Only his A-Yuan can mark him. His three joint lovebites can only appear in his body and not anyone else. "I will kill that bitch!"

Two months after the incident, Jin Ling met Jingyi with both of their sect's Junior disciples for a night hunting. Wei Wuxian accompanied them and disturbed the mountain of Jinzi located near Laoling. The village elder can actually send the request to Laoling Qin sect which still led by Qin Cangye, Qin Su's father, since the Luo village was near the said sect. However, the village elder met a Jin disciple and with trembled hands, he gave his letter of request in the disciple and pleaded to save their people who has been possessed by an evil spirit.

"The first person that was possessed already died. He's just twelve. The spirit only left her body after he passed. We were supposed to burn her corpse but he suddenly woke up and scared the people. We brought him to the mountain and locked the corpse there. Until one night, several children aged twelve to fiftee  are possessed. All of them are males." The village elder named Luo Peng told them about incident that recently happened in their village.
