Chapter 54: Caught

When we got to the platform I was nervous.

"It's ok." George said, taking my hand.

"I know." I said.

I said goodbye to Lupin and followed George onto the train. We found a compartment with Fred who fell asleep fast.

"I have something to give you.." He said pulling out a small box.

"I swear if you're asking me to marry you just because everyone has been dropping hints about...I will not hesitate to say no." I said and his face dropped. "I am not saying I would never say yes I am saying I would not say yes if you got down and proposed to me on this train with your twin brother sleeping when I am only 16. This is not how people do it anymore." I said.

"If you would have given me a second woman you would have seen it is not a ring." He said. "Not yet anyways." He said, smiling at me which I returned.

He gave me the box and I opened it. It was a necklace with a necklace and a red ruby on it.

"George, this is amazing, thank you." I said taking it in my hand.

"Of course." he said, putting it on me.

"I have nothing to give you, it has just slipped my mind this year. I am so sorry." I said.

"Just give me your love." He said smiling.

When we got back to school. Harry, Ron and Hermione broke out to go see Hagrid who was back.

The start to school was slow. DA meeting resumed. We were working on patronus.

"Try to find the happiest memory. Allow it to fill you up." Harry said walking around. I was practicing with George and Fred.

"Ok let's try this again. Expecto Patronum." I said doing the wand movement and my bird patronus appeared.

"Expecto Patronum." George said a bird matching mine came out of his wand

"Well that makes sense." He said pulling me in for a kiss. I looked up and our patronus were running around together. I looked around to see patrouns everywhere, then little by little they faded away. I looked up to see the chandelier radaling. Everyone else saw it too.

A bombing should come again. I saw the wall shake. We all slowly walked over to it. George pulled me defensively behind his back where he could protect me. He kept one arm around my waist and another gripped on his wand.

I looked over at the mirror wall cracked and fell. I saw Fred and George raise their wand as well as some others. George tightened the arm on my waist to keep me safe.

A spell rang out and the wall blew up. Before I knew it Fred and George had turned around to protect me from the debris and rubble. When the dust cleared we saw Umbridge, Filch, and some other slytherins standing there.

Draco came out pulling Cho Chang and smirked. Harry was pulled out.

"Everyone else go back to your dorm." Umbridge said.

George walked in front of me still protecting and shielding me from anything. It came out a little bit later that Umbridge had replaced Dumbledore.

"Boys and girls are not permitted to be within eight inches of each other. Those wishing to join the Inquisitorial Squad for extra credit may." Said Umbridge over the speakers.

The school turned grim. Umbride took all the paintings down. I only was close to George in the safety of his room or if people we trusted were in the common room. OWLs were fast approaching and I was studying for that.

"Lily, can I talk to you?" George said the day before my OWLs.

"Yes of course." I said following him.

"Look something may happen tomorrow and I want you to know that it will be ok. I will write to you." He said.

"What?" I half asked and half laughed.

"That is all I can say but know this, I love you so much." He said, kissing me.

"Ok? I love you too." I said as he walked away and I returned to my work.
