Chapter 6: Lets Talk

The next people stepped up and it transformed to things like a snake into a clown and then it was my turn.

"You can do this Lily." Lupin said.

I stood in front of it and watched it turn into a werewolf. I gave a quick glance to Lupin who looked worried.

"Ridiculous!" I cried and the werewolf turned into a Lupin dancing in a robe. Everyone laughed.

"Good...Next." Lupin said, sounding discombobulated, Harry stepped up and the dancing Lupin turned into a Dementor.

The whole class froze and the dementor got closer to Harry. Lupin stepped in front of Harry and put his arms out to block him. The Dementor turned into a full moon with clouds.

Lupin stood there watching it. I walked forward in front of him "Ridiculous!" I called again and it transformed into a balloon. It flew around the class before coming back to the front and Lupin put it back into the wardrobe with a spell.

"Alright well sorry, that is enough for today. If you would like to collect your books from the back of the class, that is the end of the lesson." Lupin said, walking forward as kids started to grab their backpacks.

"I wish I would have gotten a turn." Hermoine said.

"It's ok, maybe I can talk to him and see if you can at some point." I said, smiling at her.

"Really? That would be awesome." Hermoine said. As people started to leave the class Lupin called out "Miss.Lupin stay behind."

Hermoine gave me a look.

"It's ok. I will catch up with you later." I said to her, I watched as the last person walked out of the class.

"We need to talk." Lupin said.

"Yes we do." I said as he walked to the door to make sure no one was there before he closed it.

"How are you?" He asked walking to his desk to sit down.

"You mean how am I doing with school? Or how am I doing with the fact that my murdeus dad broke out of prison and it was most likely not to see me but his stupid god son who can't even fight off a Boggart!" I yelled pacing the class.

"I guess that is my answer then." He said.

"He has been spotted, you know?" I said, pulling the newspaper out of my bag to slam it on his table.

"I know." He said, picking it up to look at it.

"Lily, do you wish he broke out for you?" Lupin asked me.

I took a deep breath. "Lupin, I love you. You know I love you but...yes I wish he broke out for me. He is my dad." I said, starting to cry.

"I know Lily." Lupin said hugging me.

"How did he get out?" I asked Lupin.

"If I had to take a wild guess I would say in his black dog form. Dementors register humans not animals." Lupin said.

"So he could have broken out years ago to come see me?" I asked.

"Yes I think he could have. I remember when they became animagus for me." Lupin said.

"I know.. Why won't you let me become one so I can help you?" I asked.

"Lily, we are not having this conversation again!" He yelled.

"I know I just don't want you to be alone. I love you too much for you to deal with that alone." I said,

"I know how much you love me which brings me to my next point. The Boggart? The werewolf? Getting rid of the full moon for me?" He asked.

"Yes. I did not have a werewolf in mind when I walked up there but that is what it became. And you froze with the full moon so I stepped in to help you." I said.

"I know. Thank you but someone could have put it together." Lupin said.

"No one would have. I think you are ok. Now if you don't mind I am going to go somewhere else." I said starting to walk out of the class.

"Lily, wait." Lupin called. I turned to see him holding out a note.

"A note?" I asked taking it. I looked at the writing on it. "For when you get sorted". "From Sirius?" I asked. He nodded once. "Great." I said, shoving it into my bag and walking off. As soon as I slammed the door I broke out into a run with tires rolling down my face.

I ran until I bumped into someone and fell to the floor. I looked up to see Geroge standing there.

"Lily, are you ok?" He asked me helping me up.

"I-" I started but stopped because I started crying.

"Lily what is wrong?" He asked me, sounding worried. He wiped my tears away and pushed back some of my straight black hair that fallen into my face.

I waited a second to look at him then I crashed his lips into mine and kissed him. It took a second but he kissed me back.

After a few seconds I pulled away.

"I am so sorry." I said walking off.

"It's ok." He said grabbing my arm as I walked off.

'I- Let me go please." I asked, squirming in his grip.

"Yeah sorry." He said dropping my arm go.

"Well bye." I said walking away fast.

When I got back to the dorm I saw Hermione And Ron sitting by the fire.

"What did your dad want to talk to you about?" Hermoine said.

"Oh you know just.. Um- Dad stuff." I said sitting down and staring at the fire.

"Are you ok? You don't seem alright." Ron said.

"I am fine." I said my eyes were not breaking from the fire.

"Lily, are you in here?" George asked as he walked into the portrait.

"I was never here ok?" I said crawling behind the couch.

"Hey Ron, have you seen Lily?" George asked them squatting beside them.

"Yeah sh-" Rpn started but was cut off by Hermoine.

"No, we have not seen her." Hermoine said.

"Ok I am going to go look for her." George said leaving the common room and going back into the castle.

I crawled back in front of the couch to sit with them.

"Want to tell us what that was about?" Hermoine asked.

"Not really." I said, pulling my legs up to my chest and staring at the fire. After a few minutes I remembered the note in my bag.

"You know I am going to go up to our room. Thank you for your help with George." I said standing and grabbing my bag.

"Bye Lily." Ron said with a half hearted wave.

I rushed up the stairs, closed the door and threw my bag on my bed. I paced around the room thinking about if I wanted to open it or not. After a moment of pacing I realized I probably should open. I reached into my bag and pulled out the note.

I undid the seal and took out the note.

"My dearest Lily,

Did you know you were named after the strongest woman I knew. She also married one of my best friends. Oh but that's besides the point. If you are reading this, this means you finally went to Hogwarts! I don't know what year you would be in but I know you would have gotten sorted. I hope you get put in Gryffindor after all that was my house. Imagine if another Black broke the Slytherin line by being in Gryffindor. A dad can hope but I will be proud with any house, maybe even Slytherin. Well I won't make this too long seeing as it may be your first day.

I ran my hand over the signature. I did not realize that I had a tear on my face until it fell onto the note.

I missed my dad. I knew it was selfish but I wished my dad would have broken out to see me.
