Me and Rick were out looking for more supplies, mostly clothes since the kids are going to outgrow the clothes that they're wearing. We came up to a store that hopefully sells clothing. We went inside and got our knives ready in case there were walkers in the store. I'll be surprised if there wasn't any walkers inside. We each had a backpack on our backs to stuff things into and began walking around the store and started grabbing things we may need.

I found another pair of pants for me and I actually like them but at times like these, you don't worry about liking them, it's about what you need no matter how terrible they look or smell. The smell isn't pleasant but at least I found something I could use.

I heard groaning coming from my left and I turned to see a walker heading towards me. Before I was able to go kill it, I saw more walkers than me and Rick together can kill. I looked behind me and saw Rick looking through the shelves at the medicine aisle. I ran over to him and grabbed his arm, making him look at me.

"Rick, we have to go. There's walkers in here and they're in a small herd." I said, pointing towards the walkers. We ran out of the store and started looking around for anywhere else that hasn't been ransacked yet. We found a store that's for adults and to be honest, I've never been in a store made for just adults. I never had a reason to go in one.

"Maddie, what about this store?" He asked, hopefully joking.

"Nope. Not going in there." I said, shaking me head. "Let's go to the store next to it." I said, pointing to the store next door.

"Why? Are you scared of what's in this one?" He asked.

"I'm not scared of what's in there, I just don't want to go in there. You might end up getting some weird ideas if you went in there." I said.

"What kind of weird ideas?" He asked.

"I'm not going to say but let's go." I said, going into the store that I pointed to. I started stuffing things into my backpack until it was full.

Me and Rick walked out of the store and started heading back to Alexandria. We walked through the gates and Rick took the stuff we got to the supply place while I was about to walk until I heard Rosita call my name.

"What is it Rosita?" I asked.

"I don't know if I'll be a good mother." She said.

"You'll be a great mother Rosita, I know you will." I assured her.

"You really think so?" She asked.

"Yeah. You're great with Judith, Liam and RJ. You treat them like they're your own children. You got practice with them." I said.

"Thank you Maddie." She said, hugging me. I hugged her back then we went to do what we were going to do.

Rick's POV:

I walked out of the house and saw Negan. I walked over to him which made him look at me.

"Negan, I never thanked you for saving Maddie's life. So, thank you for saving her." I said.

"You don't have to thank me Rick. I didn't want her getting hurt more than she already has. I would do it again if I had to." He said. "And don't tell Maddie I told you this but when you disappeared, she always came to my cell and talked to me. Most of the time she would start crying because she missed you. I just listened to her because I knew she needed someone to just listen to her without judging her." He said.

"I won't tell her but thank you again." I said, walking away. I don't like him being out of the cell but he saved Maddie's life so I accepted him being out of the cell as long as he doesn't try anything.

I walked to Maddie and she had her back towards me since she was talking to her brother and I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her, making her jump slightly.

"Rick, you scared me." She said.

"Sorry Maddie but guess what?" I said.

"What?" She asked.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you too Rick." She said, smiling at me and turned around. I placed my lips onto hers then we heard Daryl spoke.

"Go get a room you two." Daryl said.

"Alright. Let's go Maddie." I said, grabbing her hand.

"Wait, no." Daryl said. Me and Maddie were laughing. "Damnit." He said, making us laugh more.
