Siddiq told me that since I was in a coma for three months that I have to learn how to walk again to build my muscles up. Someone was with me, keeping they're arm around my waist to hold me up while I was practicing moving my legs. We were on the street of Alexandria so I have more space to move.

"You're doing great Maddie." Lindsay said. She's the one that was assigned to help me to walk again.

"Thanks but I still got a long way to go until I can walk by myself." I said, chuckling.

"You did sleep for a long time." She said.

"You got that right. Longer than I wanted." I said. She chuckled and we continued moving. "What happened while I was asleep?" I asked.

"I don't know if I should tell you but I'm going to because you'll find out. There's a herd of walkers outside the walls." She said.

"No. Not this again." I said.

"The walls are strong Maddie and they're trying to find a way to draw them away." She said.

"But how are they supposed to? When they can't get out there?" I asked.

"They'll figure something out Maddie, you know that." She said.

"I know. I'm just scared something is going to happen, that's all." I said.

"We all are. But let's talk about something else so you don't get worked up." She said.

"Alright." I said.

"Maddie, you're my idol. You stop at nothing to protect everyone that you love and care about." She said. "I'm too scared to." She added.

"If someone you love and care about is in danger, you'll push the fear away to save them. That's what I did. I was prepared to die to save my son and I would do it again if it came to it." I said. "I will do it for anyone because I'd want them to live on even if it meant me dying." I said.

"We can't let you die Maddie and we won't let anything happen even though we couldn't stop this from happening to you. But we're relieved that you lived and pulled through." She said.

"I'm happy too. I thought I died when I was going through memories of the past and recent events. Also talking to people that I loved and cared about who died." I said. "I still think about them. They got me through hard times and they still are even though they're not here." I said.

"I'm sorry you lost them Maddie. They sounded like good people." She said.

"They were." I said. When we walked around the corner, Lindsay got grabbed. I turned and saw a walker biting into her neck. She let go of me and I fell to the ground. "No!" I shouted, scared.

I can't let the fear take over. It could get me killed. I didn't have any sort weapon on me since I could barely walk. While the walker was feasting on Lindsay, I was crawling away as fast as I can until I was grabbed. I held the walker away from me. I looked around everywhere for anything that I could use to kill the walker with. I couldn't find anything so the only option is to try to slam its head onto the ground. But that's hard since I don't have a lot of strength.

I put my hand on the side of its head while still keeping its face away from me. I used all the strength I had to slam its head down. I felt it trying to tear my stomach open. I pushed harder and faster and soon its head was split open on the ground. I crawled away from it and I crawled my way to the house that was close by. I crawled up the stairs the best I can and I reached up and opened the door then pushed it open. I crawled inside and closed the door. I heard footsteps coming towards me.

"Oh my god Maddie. What happened?" Aaron asked, picking me up and put me on the couch. I didn't know I was at Aaron's house because I was just trying to get inside.

"There's walkers out there. They got Lindsay." I told him.

"Shit. Stay here Maddie." He said.

"Alright." I said, scared and worried at the same time. He ran out of the house after leaving me something to defend myself with.

Rick's POV:

I was looking for Maddie while killing walkers. I saw Aaron running out of his house and started killing walkers. I ran over to him and caught his attention.

"Do you know where Maddie is?" I asked.

"She's in my house but she's okay. She didn't get hurt, she's just shook up and scared." He told me.

We were all in the houses, since the walkers blocked us in. I was next to Maddie and the kids. The kids were crying because they're scared and Maddie was trying to stay strong.

"Daddy. When is this going to end?" Olivia asked.

"I don't know sweetheart." I said. We all went out, except Maddie and the kids, to kill the walkers like we did before but now we have more people. And more guns.

Maddie's POV:

"Mom, I'm scared." RJ said.

"I am too RJ but we have to stay strong. I wish I was out there helping them." I said.

"Mom, you're not in any shape to. You can't walk." Liam said.

"I know but I don't like just laying here while they're out there. They could get killed." I said

"We know mom but we don't like being stuck in here either but we have to. We have to keep you safe." Judith said.

"I'm supposed to be keeping you all safe." I said.

"You kept us safe ever since we were born. It's our turn to keep you safe." Liam said.

"You're all great kids. We raised you right." I said. "I love you all." I added.

"We love you too mommy." Olivia said.

We were waiting a long while, killing walkers that would get inside. The door opened and everyone came inside, covered in blood.

"We did it Maddie. We killed the walkers just like we did before." Rick said.

"Good. I'm just glad that you're all okay. I can't lose anyone else." I said, smiling.
