I was woken up by Olivia speaking.

"Mommy, I can't sleep." Olivia said.

"Okay sweetie. Come on up here with mommy and daddy." I said. "Rick." I said, shaking Rick a bit.

"Hm? What is it?" He asked, groggily.

"Scoot over a little bit. Olivia wants to sleep in the bed with us." I said.

"Alright. Come on sweetheart." He said, scooting over. She climbed up on the bed and crawled between us and went under the cover. "Me and mommy will protect you." He said, kissing her head.

"Thank you mommy and daddy." She said, smiling. "Goodnight mommy and daddy." She said, closing her eyes.

"Good night sweetheart." Rick said, putting his arm around her and his hand was on my hip. We then fell back asleep.

6 hours later

I opened my eyes and Olivia was still asleep but didn't see Rick. I got out of bed and went downstairs which I was welcomed by the smell of what I assume is pancakes. I looked in the kitchen and saw Rick cooking.

"Morning Rick." I said, rubbing one of my eyes.

"Morning Maddie. I made pancakes for our breakfast." He said, smiling.

"That's sweet of you. I knew I made the right choice in marrying you." I said, walking up behind him and wrapped my arms around him.

"Yes you did." He said, still cooking. I walked back upstairs to get Olivia so she can eat her breakfast.

"Come on Olivia, time for breakfast." I said, shaking her slightly and she opened her eyes.

"Morning mommy." She said, stretching.

She reached her arms up for me to pick her up. I picked her up then went downstairs and put her on one of the stools in the kitchen. Rick gave every one their breakfast even though it was just me and Olivia here with him and Rick sat down next to me.

"These are amazing Rick. Better than my pancakes." I said.

"Of course, I'm the one who made them." He said. "You need some cooking lessons from me." He added.

"Yes I do." I said, chuckling.

Once we finished eating, I went to get dressed to go outside to do what I had to do which was to take care of the garden. Rick was with Olivia, talking to Aaron. I saw Travis walking around with Michonne watching him to make sure he doesn't do anything. I may have known him before but that doesn't mean he won't try anything. He saw me and began to walk over to me.

"Hey Maddie. Never thought I'd see you working with plants." He said. "I thought you told me you didn't have a green thumb?" He said.

"I got better at it." I said, picking a tomato.

"Can you tell them I don't need someone watching my every move? I'm not going to do anything." He said.

"We can't be too careful Travis." I said.

"Come on Maddie. You know me." He said.

"That doesn't mean I can trust you. Especially now because you could be trying to get in my head." I said.

"I'm not going to do that Maddie. If I was going to, I would've tried it by now." He said.

"Travis, you could be a different person than you were before and I can't take the chance. I'm not the same person you knew before. I've killed people Travis. I'm not as harmless as I was before." I told him.

"We've all killed someone Maddie. Except for me. I could never bring myself to do it." He said.

"If you had to deal with the people we had to deal with, you'll have no choice but to kill them. I've killed more people than I can count. I killed them without hesitation because I knew I had to in order to stay alive." I said. "See? We all changed because of the apocalypse." I said.

It was now nighttime and I was about to head upstairs to bed since everyone was already asleep when Liam came down.

"What are you doing up this late Liam?" I asked.

"I just came to get a glass of water because I got thirsty." He told me. I stayed downstairs to wait for him when I someone came up behind me.

"Come over here to your mom Liam." The man behind me said. Liam came over and he had fear in his eyes. "You two are going on a little trip with me." He said, tying our hands behind our backs.

He started leading us to the gate and opened it. I was wondering where the person who was supposed to be watching was and saw that they were dead. We were led into the woods and walked further away from Alexandria.
