No Looking Back {Book Two}

I was outside walking with my crutch of course. Daryl told Negan to walk with me this time to see if he really is trying to become a better person.

"How do you feel being out of that cell Negan?" I asked.

"Better. I hated being in that cell." He said.

"I bet you did, I would too. Wait, I have been in one but not as long as you were." I said.

"When you were sick with that flu, right?" He asked.

"Yeah. I felt like hell and I looked like hell." I said. "I was as pale as that siding on that house." I said, chuckling.

"That must've been fun." He said.

"If you consider feeling like death and being close to death fun then yes it was." I said. I'm feeling different when I'm with Negan and I don't want to feel like this for anyone else.

A month later, I didn't need the crutch anymore because I was fully healed and I wasn't in any more pain. I was outside playing tag with the kids and Liam was it.

"I'm going to get you mom!" Liam shouted.

"Oh no you're not!" I shouted, running away from him. I saw Negan watching us with a smile on his face.

"Yes I am mom!" He shouted. I was growing tired and he soon got me. "Told you I'll get you mom!" He shouted, laughing.

"Yes you did in fact tell me you were." I said, laughing with him.

"Liam got mommy!" RJ shouted jumping on top of us. Now I got two kids on top of me.

"Get off mommy. Please let mommy stand up." I said. They got off me and I stood up and hit the dust off me. "Thank you." I said.

"You're welcome mommy." RJ said.

"I'm hungry mom." Judith said.

"Alright. Let's go make something for us to eat." I said. We all went to the house and started making lunch. "Here's your sandwiches." I said.

"Thanks mom." Liam and Judith said in unison.

"Thanks mommy." RJ said.

"You're welcome." I said, when there was a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it, seeing Negan. "Hi Negan. Come on in." I said, letting him inside.

"Thank you." He said.

"Hi Negan!" RJ shouted with food in his mouth.

"Hey RJ." Negan said.

"RJ, what did I say about talking with your mouth full?" I said.

"Sorry mommy." He said, eating his sandwich.

"Maddie, I need to talk to you." Negan said.

"Okay. Kids, me and Negan will be in my room if you need something." I said.

"Okay mommy." RJ said. Me and Negan went upstairs and I closed the door.

"What is it Negan?" I asked. He looked nervous about something.

"I have a confession to make." He said.

"Okay." I said. He didn't speak just stared at me which caused me to get confused. "What's the confession?" I asked. He's usually straightforward with me but he seems to be hesitating to tell me. He then got closer to me.

"I umm..." He said, having trouble saying what he wants to say. "Fuck it." He said, before placing his lips onto mine which caught me off guard. I caught myself starting to kiss him back and he pulled away. "Sorry, I couldn't hold myself back." He said.

"It's alright, you just caught me by surprise." I said.

"I fell for you Maddie. I know you're not over Rick but I couldn't stop myself from falling for you." He said.

"I didn't think anyone else would feel this way towards me." I said.

"I know you might not feel the same towards me but I just had to get it out." He said. I've been feeling a certain way towards him but I didn't want to accept the fact I may have been falling for someone else because I don't want to move on from Rick. I also haven't let myself love anyone else since then. I don't know if it feels right to love someone who's not Rick.
