I woke up like any normal day, but I felt it in my gut. That day was not normal. But my whole morning was normal, so I waved the feeling off. It was probably nothing. I shouldn't have ignored the feeling.
And now, here I am, sitting in a courtroom watching as my father gets dragged away by police. I couldn't even bring myself to cry. I was numb. This was going to ruin everything. What were we supposed to do now?
We live in an extravagant three-story house. Not anymore. I went to a top-tier high school, not anymore. I had so many great friends, no more. Mom is sure to move us. To where? I have no idea. I just know I won't like it.

Turns out she decided that Brookings South Dakota was the right choice. I hate it here. It's a college town so there's a bunch of people my age, but they've got their group figured out already. I don't fit in.
It's also country, so a city boy like me doesn't belong here, in their words. It's the summer so everyone out hanging out and I'm stuck in this stupid ranch house trying to occupy myself with shitty wifi.
The only thing to do here other than sulk is ride horses. Now I don't wanna do competitions or jumps or anything, and luckily mom still has enough money for us to live comfortably, so I can pay someone to teach me. I just haven't found anyone yet.

I decided to go thrifting. There are a few stores here I wanna check out. I found a couple of shirts and a pair of pants from the first place, and the second one was an antique shop, but they had a few rings that I bought.
After I finished I was just walking around aimlessly when I ran into someone.
"I'm so sorry about that, I wasn't watching where I was going, sorry." The other person laughed a bit.
"It's alright, neither was I. Um, I've never seen you around, you new?" I sighed.
"Is this town really that small? Uh yeah, I moved here like a week ago."
The other boys' brows furrowed.
"You sound British though, why move to Brookings South Dakota?" I sighed.
"Yeah uhm, f-family.. drama?" The boy smiled sympathetically.
"You don't have to tell me now. Either way, I'm still gonna offer my friendship. This town is really hard to get used to when you just move to it." I smiled.
"Thank you, that's greatly appreciated."
3rd POV
The two talked for a few more minutes and exchanged numbers before Xiuma asked if Techno wanted to come over to his house. Xisuma drove the two to his house. When they got there Xisuma's mom wasn't home so he grabbed some snacks and showed the boy his room.
It was very barren, just having moved in, but the two sat down on the bed and chatted for a long while. They talked about where they had lived, people in their lives, and school. It was enjoyable for both boys.
After a while, Techno asked,
"Have you found anything fun to do around here yet?" Xisuma sighed.
"No, it's kinda hard. Everyone has their friends and no one really talks to me." Techno's expression changed from intrigued to determined.
"Have you ever ridden a horse?" Xisuma sat up straight.
"No, but I've always wanted to learn. Why?" Techno smiled.
"I could teach you!"
