Flash stared at his hands. He never meant to start bullying Peter, his friend started to and he was desperate to fit in. He was ashamed of himself, Flash was, hurting his best friend like that, but by now he couldn't change anything. He wished more than anything that he could go back and change what happened.

Flash was walking the halls of MIT wondering how he got there in the first place. He knows he doesn't deserve to be here, guess that's the benefit of 'daddy' and his money. Flash sighed. He doesn't wanna be here, he shouldn't be here.

He never even wanted to go to college. he didn't know what the hell he wanted to do after high school, but college wasn't it. Well, that was until 'daddy' and used his money and privilege to send Flash to MIT.

Flash wasn't paying any attention to where he was going until he ran right into a brick wall, or what he thought was a brick wall. Turns out it was Peter Parker, or as Flash found out from the letterman jacket the boy always wears, Stark.

Flash paled as he looked up at his old best friend.
"H-hey Pete, sorry Peter. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, I'm sorry." Flash stammered out. Peter looked at the freaked boy.
"It's fine Flash just move on." Peter walked away without a second thought.

Flash sighed. Peter always walked away before he could ever get a word in. It annoyed him to no end. He desperately wanted to talk to the boy but he was never able to even mutter a single word.

Flash stared at  Peter from across the lecture hall wishing he could go over and have a conversation with the boy. See, Flash never forgot about their stupid little pact, but he bullied the boy in high school for Christ's sake.

But now, Peter was taller, bigger, and more built than Flash. Peter does pole vault, he's the best on the team, in the country, yet he never tries out for the Olympics or anything of the sort. No one understood why.

Apparently Flash had been thinking for too long; the lecture was over and the professor was in front of him with an unimpressed face, Peter next to him.
"Flash your grades have been dropping and by the way you act, I'd say you don't want to be here, but you signed up for the class."

Flash huffed, he was done.
"Y'know prof., you're right, I don't want to be here. I've never wanted to be here, I don't even want to be in college, but here I am. Y'know my dad was the one who paid for me to be here, he's also the one who chose my classes, so no, I don't want to be here. There's nothing keeping me here, I'm quite shit at making friends, I would love nothing more than to leave, but I don't have nearly enough money to support myself so I'm kinda fucking stuck here." With that Flash left.

Flash didn't expect Peter to follow him but when his door was stopped from closing behind him and he looked back to see Peter, his heart dropped.
"I don't want your pity P-Stark. Go away." Flash deflected while again trying to close his door only to fail.

Flash looked back up and the two stared at each other for a while before Peter stepped forward and yanked his former best friends into a tight hug. Flash hesitated for a second before giving in to the hug.

Peter's shoulders start to shake softly.
"God I fucking missed you, you asshole. I hate you for bullying me but holy fuck have I missed you." Flash huffed out a watery laugh before squeezing his best friend tighter.
"God I'm so sorry Peter, I never wanted to, my friends were assholes and I was desperate to fit in."

Peter sighed, he knew how desperate the boy was to fit in yet he still let himself drift, and left the boy to fend for himself.
"Mno I'm sorry Flash, for abandoning you and leaving you to try and fit in on your own." Flash huffed.
"Yeah, you should be bitch." The two laughed softly before standing there in silence, each silently trying to comfort the other.

After a while Flash timidly spoke up.
"Peter, do you remember that stupid little pact we made as kids?" Peter was quiet for a second before admitting that he did indeed remember the pact, but never thought anything about it. They were stupid little kids promising something they had no control over.

Flash's heart dropped straight through his feet.
"Oh." The two pulled away and stood there awkwardly before Flash gently closed the door in Peter's face. Flash smacked himself mentally. Of course the other thought it was a joke. Why would he think it would be real?

He turned and rested his back on the door as he slid down it. Fuck. He pressed the heels of his palms against his eyes as he tried his hardest not to cry. He had just gotten to talk to the boy he'd been wanting to talk to for months, yet here he is, crying his eyes out just after.

Little did he know that Peter was on the other side of the door doing something similar. Peter was sitting with his back against the door, his head on his knees. He had no idea why he had said that. He really wanted to connect with his old best friend, yet here he was, having just yelled at him.

Time Skip

A few days later and neither boy had pulled enough courage together to talk to the other though they both wanted to. Flash was tired and sad and Peter was tired and angry. Both of them missed the other, yet neither wanted to start the conversation, both thinking the other didn't want to talk.

Flash was the first to work up the courage to talk to the other first. He spotted Peter after their lecture in the hall. He walked over slowly before stopping in front of the boy. Peter stared at Flash waiting for the boy to say something, anything. They stood there for a while, staring at each other, waiting for someone to say something.

Finally Flash was the first again to work up the courage.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up." Peter shook his head.
"Nah I'm sorry Flash, I remember our pact and I've thought about it virtually every day since. It means everything to me and I'm sorry I said that." Peter's eyes welled up with tears.

Flash sighed and brought the boy into a hug.
"I've missed you. So much." Peter giggled.
"I've missed you too. Never do that to me again." Flash laughed.
"Well, then you never lie to me again! I cried! I actually got so embarrassed about bringing it up!" Flash pulled away.

Peter giggled again.
"God I've missed you. I love you, you know." Flash sighed.
"I love you too." Peter started down at Flash before thinking,
'Fuck it.' and leaning down to kiss Flash.

The two really were suckers for pacts.

To the person who added this book to their reading list called 'Get off your ass but pt 2', thank you. That was all the motivation I needed /hj. Also to anyone who noticed, sorry for the posting and unposting, my friend was messing with me. Almost gave me a panic attack. Enjoy :) - Pidge
