Prologue

“What the actual fuck is this?!”

“Suspension is better than termination, man. Next time, don’t trust someone you just met just because she was a good fuck.”

I hissed out of frustration.

“She’s not someone I just met, she’s my girlfriend.”

“Correction, she was your girlfriend. She betrayed you and used you as a bait.”

“I was deceived and fooled.”

“Whatever, Blade.” He opened his palm. “Sayang sana kayo, Bill Blade! Puta! Muntik na maging beyblade.”

“Fuck you.” I sighed. I gave him my gun and the key of arsenal room, where weapons are being kept, repaired, maintained and issued.

“Three months isn’t that long, Revanche. Isipin mo na lang vacation leave ‘yan na matagal na nating inaasam lahat. Oh ‘di ba? Isang malaking sana all, ang pinag-kaiba lang ay bad record ‘yan sa profile mo at maaaring mabawasan ka ng misyon.”

“Are you kidding me? It was just one fucking failed mission, Robert.”

“Tell that to our commander, Blade. Nakarating na sa itaas ang nangyari sa ‘yo. You need to lie low your profile and come back. Our bosses especially your uncle aren’t happy with your most recent performance.”

“Isang pagkakamali lang nabura lahat ng magandang nagawa ko. How unlucky.”

He chuckled. “Yeah, yeah. Have fun and find a girlfriend, man.”

“Fuck you.”

“Kanina ka pa fuck ng fuck, fuckfuckin kita eh!”

I rolled my eyes and snatched my bag. I went out from his four cornered boring office. Damn, three months will be hell for me. Kasalanan ito ng babeng iyon. Kung hindi lang sana ako nagpalinlang sa katulad niya.

“Oh damn!” I snapped as I remember another thing. Wala akong sasakyan dahil bigbike ang kadalasang gamit ko.

And I don’t have any other choice but to ride a public vehicle. Pumila ako upang makasakay nang may dalawang babae ang nagtutulakan sa likod. Nilingon ko sila at tinitigan nang masama.  Agad din naman silang nanahimik kaya hinayaan ko na.

“Oh! Sa dulo na dumiretso para makaalis na agad!” sigaw ng kundoktor nang makasakay ako.

I sat second to the last seat. I took a deep inhalation and exhaled it in a very tiring way.
