The doctor pulled me out of the room into the hallway since my dad was still sleeping
"So your fathers scans and test came back .." he said looking at me then back at his board
"Is something wrong ?" I said trying to see what was on the clipboard
"As you know his tumor has progressed but it has now progressed to the point where it's life threatening.. he has a blood clot which could spread to his lung ..." he said looking back at my dad
"Well there has to be something you can do right ?" I said
"I'm afraid there isn't the medicine that we would give him for the blood clot would interfere with his cancer .." he said walking away
I looked back at my dads room seeing him sleeping peacefully
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket
Carlos - how's it going ? I tried to call but you didn't answer
I didn't know how to respond so I just put it back in my pocket walking back into my dads room to try and get a little sleep since I was up all night but had no luck so I just sat there watching my dad sleep
