"Well, it's your birthday," Kamari spoke standing in front of her brother's grave. "Happy 23rd big brother."

Her head lingered down as her eyes laid on his tombstone. There were so many emotions going through her body at once she just didn't want to feel anything.

She'd been sober for almost 6 months now but at the moment she just wanted to flush all the progress down the drain and say fuck it.

"I shouldn't be here right now by myself. I was gonna bring Makayla so that you could meet her but," She simply shrugged. "You never really liked crowds."

"I'm too emotional to even be here right now, I'll come to see you next week Dee." She sighed. "I love you." She spoke quietly walking to her car.

On his birthdays she followed the same routine but she was already fucking it up. Kamari's number one rule was to never come to the cemetery on his birthday. Because the day never ended well.

But she couldn't help herself, she just wanted to see him. And she couldn't.

Once she got in her car she immediately drove off to go back to her apartment.

Meanwhile, Makayla climbed out of her bed. It being 7 in the evening she was just now waking up from a nap. She insisted for Kamari spend the night over her house the previous night. But Kamari just wanted to be alone.

She'd tried to spend his birthday with other people before but all they did was irritate her with the 'sorry's.' She knew Makayla wouldn't do that but she just wanted to be alone.

The first thing on her mind was to go get Kamari some food knowing Mari's mind wouldn't be on herself. She would forget to eat today so Kayla already ordered the food.

Walking out of her room to get some water she ran into Trell, as he walked into the kitchen. "Oh wassup, Kayla." He nodded.

"Hey," She rubbed her eye, opening the fridge and grabbing a water bottle.

"You talked to Ice yet?" He asked and she shook her head.

"Honestly, she doesn't deal with grief pretty good. On her parent's birthdays, she's pretty much okay. But on Dee's, she's a ghost." He explained.

"She flies off the face of the Earth for the entire day and the next she'll just hang out with me like. nothing ever happened. And when I bring him up she just changes the subject." He added.
