I put my last book onto its shelf and plop down on my bed.

So here we are. In Portland. We left 3 weeks after my parents first broke the news, letting My sister finish her school year and gave us 2 weeks to pack. Its been a day here and I've just finished unpacking my boxes.

The house we live in here is only slightly smaller than the one we had outside of New York. It's 6 bedroom, meaning me and Leah had to share, but that's okay. The rest of my siblings have their own room.

I haven't talked to my mom or dad much since the day they told us, it just doesn't feel right. I mean I get we only moved and it's not that big of a deal, but they had been planning it for months and didn't even tell us.

We at-least could've been prepared for it, rather than only having 3 weeks notice. Sydney broke up with me, couldn't handle the distance I guess. It hurt a little, but it's okay. I wasn't in love with her or anything. And we're still friends.

Paige is so happy, different from when she found out. She saw the house and immediately loved it. And I hate to admit it but it is pretty here. In Portland I mean. Of course the house is great but what I didn't expect was how many amazing, pretty places there are in Portland. Maybe it will all be okay.

We all got registered for school, All of us ho to the same school except for Zach, who'll go to Portland university. He had already applied there during his junior year, but he never expected to actually go here. But since we had to move here anyways, he wanted to stay close to us and to Eli. He'll be moving into his dorm soon, but he'll keep his room for when he comes to visit.

We start school here in about a month, and mins and my sisters plans are to stay at the beach all month while we still have time.

*1 month later*

I walk over to the mirror and stare at my appearance. Slightly messing with my dark brown hair. I look at the outfit I'm wearing to my first day of junior year. It seems like summer flew by. It was boring. All we did was unpack. I'm wearing a pair of baggy jeans and a colorful oversized concert tee I got like 3 years ago. I have on silver hoop earrings that are big but not outrageous, and a green necklace that my sister says compliments my light, grayish-green eyes. We have the same eyes, so I really just think she's boosting her own ego.

My hair is curly and hangs at my lower back. Normally it's super frizzy but I decided to tame it a little today. Just as I grab black converse and slide them on, Leah walks in our room from downstairs and comes to my side of the room and stops in front of me.

"How do I look?" She asks. She's wearing a light brown top that hugs her thin stomach, and a pair of Jean shorts that come right above her knees, a slight rip at the very bottom, her dark brown skin glowy from all the lotion she put on, and her curly, black hair in a bun on the top of her head. "You look great." I say. She does. She always does.

We both grab our bags and start heading to my car to go to school. I  say goodbye to my parents, I'm still upset with them. Although Portland isn't bad so far, I left my entire life in New York. A life I adored. Even if I were to love it here it wouldn't compare to my life there. It couldn't.

As we pull up to school me and Leah look at each other nervously. We park the car and begin walking up to the huge building "Richview high-school"Is plastered in big white letters in the front of the brick building. We sigh and look at each other as we walk in. We grab our schedules out of our bags and walk to the front office to get settled in. Most of these kids went to the same elementary and middle school, so although we are all new juniors, when someone moves from across the county, the principal normally wants to meet them. Figures. We walk in the big office doors and walk to the principals desk. "Hi sir." I say as he is turned around looking at his computer. He spins his chair towards me and Leah and looks at us for a moment before a look of realization crosses his face.

"Ah, you must be Atlas white and Leah Jones." We nod.

"I'm principle Turner." He tells us a few technical things about the rules and the schedules and what not. He explains how he already met my brother and said he was "A pleasure to meet." Elias white? A pleasure to meet? Please.

We exit the principles office and scan the hallway for our lockers. Luckily the principal agreed to give me and Leah lockers close to each other because we drive to school together. We find our lockers and rush to push our stuff in them as I look at my schedule seriously for the first time. "Fuck me."
I mutter as I close my locker. Leah looks at me in surprise, nagging me to explain.

"I have calculus first period. It is......" I pull out my phone and look at the time. "it is 7:30 in the fucking morning. It is way to early for calculus." She laughs. "I have Lit" she says before smirking and walking towards the hallway her class is in. At least she knows where that is. I couldn't have a goddamn clue.

I begin walking down the hall I think my class is when I hear the bell ring. Damn. Late on the first day. How typical. I finally find my class after a few minutes of searching. I take a deep breath before opening the door and see everyone's eyes trained on me. Great. Just fucking fantastic.

"Who are you?" The teacher asks. Damnit. "Um, I'm Atlas white."

"Sorry I couldn't find the class." I mumble quietly.

"Take a seat Ms. White." The teacher mutters, nodding to the only empty seat in the class. Bitch. I walk to the chair, looking down at my feet. As I sit down I look beside me and nearly faint. The most gorgeous kid I have ever seen in my life I sitting there, drawing something in his notebook.

Holy shit he's gorgeous.

He has dark brown eyes and brown hair that's parted down the middle, it's slightly fluffy and some is in his face a little, he's wearing baggy jeans, And a baggy sweater. His hands are huge.  And from the way his legs are stretched out I can tell he's tall. Like really tall. I'm 5'7, which isn't short for a girl, but god I'd hate to see what he looks like standing next to me. He notices me staring even before I do and looks me in the eye and slightly blushes before looking back down at his paper. Aw. He's cute. He's also hot. But he's cute.
——————————
"Oh my god how hot?"

Leah asks sitting next to me at lunch. The rest of my classes were okay, boring. Oh and I was right. When he stood up, it was like a giant appeared next to me. he had to duck to get out of the door frame.

I mean come on.

"Really fucking hot." I reply. On cue, he walks into the cafeteria with another guy who is also very attractive, tan skin, curly black hair, dark brown eyes. I tap Leah and nod to the brown haired boy entering the lunchroom and she looks back at me with an "Oh my fucking god" look on her face. Yeah. I get the feeling. She continued staring before I nudge her, getting her to stop.

"did you talk to him in Calc?" She asks.
" no but he caught me staring and when he saw me he blushed. Like he actually got red." She smirks in a way I've seen before.

"Oh no. No way. Relationships on my mind right now. Sydney just ended it, and life's so crazy. Plus I don't have a chance. I mean look around." I gesture to all the girls sitting at his table. He looks, flustered? Uncomfortable? I can't really tell. "Whatever you say." Leah responds.
