Escaping you
2 weeks later
Its been 2 weeks since we first left the hospital, since Atlas was released and in conclusion, it's been somewhat of an utter hell.
The medicine that she takes for her heart makes her constantly fatigued, and she has weekly check ups with a specialist, doing all types of treatments and so many other things to help her.
Watching her slowly disintegrate in front of me,
It's the scariest thing I've ever had to experience. We have to go back to school today, after weeks of being out, and I know she's so worried about the pity and the work she hasn't done.
I roll over, slinging my arm over her bed and getting out of it, walking to the right side and bending over to reach her.
I wake her up, as gently as possible and she pulls me back into bed with her.
"You aren't allowed to wake up before me" she mumbles and I laugh
"Well you don't hear your alarms." I say and she lifts her head from her pillow.
Leah wakes up a few minutes later, swiftly leaving the room and going downstairs while Atlas gets ready.
"Hey when are we moving into the house?" She asks and I smile
"Uh, I don't really know, whenever, I guess. All of my parents stuff I already moved out." I tell her
"We should do it this weekend."
"That's really soon. Are you sure? You don't even have to go if you don't want to but I can't live here forever." I tell her and she shakes her head
"Obviously I want to go." She rolls her eyes with a laugh and I nod.
"So, this weekend?"
"Yep!" She turns back around to doing her hair.
Fuck it's gonna hurt when I lose her.

"There is not a single place I hate more than school." I say to James, walking into history.
"Mhm." He nods and I sit down, pulling out my homework I haven't done in weeks and starting on it. If I want to graduate, I Have to get my gpa back up. School used to be the only thing I cared about, I was top of my class at all times, but life's been a bit preoccupying.
I applied to multiple colleges at the end of my junior year, Columbia, brown, Princeton, Yale, And Portland university, which is where I plan on going, especially if that's where Atlas goes, but I'm keeping my options open for now.
After history I walk to Lunch, meeting Atlas at her locker. "How's your day been so far?" I ask her, and she turns to me shutting her locker.
"It's been okay. I'm getting a lot of pity though. I did a bunch of my assignments." I nod, taking her hand and heading to the cafeteria.
When we sit down Leah is rubbing her head stressfully and working on an assignment
"What's up?" I ask her and she points to her paper
"I have a test in calculus tomorrow." She says
Fuck. So do me and Atlas.
"Oh hell." I say and grab my bag, pulling out the study guide and starting to work on it. Atlas is looking at us confused and I explain to her.
"How am I supposed to do the test? I haven't been here in weeks." She lays her head on the table and I play with her hair.
"I'll help, I've been here a little more than you." I say trying to reassure her and she groans, lifting her head and leaning it against my chest.
