Escaping you
"What, what?" Atlas and Leah's excited voices ring in my ears and her parents respond on the phone.
"Yeah, because it's a business trip but you're all welcome to come along, we want you too." Her parents say through Atlas phone speaker and they both squeal.
"Of course we're going! I miss New York so much." Leah says and Atlas agrees.
They hang up the phone and Atlas walks over to me
"Wanna help me pack?" She asks and I nod, we go upstairs. i help her pack her clothes and she helps me pack mine.
"So we're leaving tomorrow?" I ask and she nods.
Her dad is going on a business trip to New York for a week and invited all of us to go with him, all of us except Zach is going and we're staying for a week.
Mentally, right now, I am absolutely fucking exhausted.
Im trying to hide it, Atlas and the rest of her family have been happier, I'm just going to ruin it if I say anything.
I haven't been doing so well, memories of my parents and thoughts of suicide constantly take over my mind and it's horrifying, the way the one person can be surrounded by light and still be swallowed by darkness.
I go into the bathroom and take a shower, Atlas already being asleep when I get out. I laugh and walk over to her, kissing her head and falling asleep next to her.
The next morning
"Wake up love" I shake atlas and she mumbles 'no' into her pillow.
I laugh and she sits up tiredly.
"We have to leave." I say and her face lights up
"I'm coming." She says and stands up, walking to her bathroom and getting ready. I wake up Leah by screaming at her and she screams back at me, Atlas yells at us both and we back down.
Jesus why does she have this control over the entire family.
We wake up my sister and Paige, and we all eventually get ready and go to the airport. On the plane, me and Atlas sit together, Leah and Paige sit together, and Athena sits with me.
Most of the ride I sleep on Atlas or she sleeps on me, Athena sprawled out between us both.
When we arrive we meet up with Atlas's parents who left last night. "Okay so we have All of you in one room, Athena in our room" they explain and we nod, heading to our hotel rooms.
We get to the hotel room and begin unpacking. We finish a few hours later and Paige and Leah leave to swim, me and Atlas staying in the room.
"Hey, would you want to come with me to meet up with some of my old friends tonight?" She asks and I nod
"I guess so, who's going?"
"Just me and you, Leah didn't want to go."
I nod and she starts getting ready and I do the same.
We get ready about an hour later and I look her up and down through the mirror
"Damn baby who are you trying to impress?" I laugh and she shakes her head
