• Chapter Fourteen : Start of the Holidays •

[••• ––– •••]

Dear (Y/N),

How are you, sweetheart? Are you getting along with your classes?

I know you are but I still want to know if you have something to tell me about them. Just rant it around, I'd be delighted to hear them.

Anyway, your dad told me what happened last time he went to Hogwarts. Aren't you going to tell me that you and Harry are already dating? I want to know ever detail, sweetheart, so you better start writing now.

You might be wondering why I want to know everything by letters. You won't be going home this Christmas. Your father and I will be in America to visit my cousin. I would love you to come but it would be too hassle for you because we will travel in a Muggle way and we might be back later in next year. You won't be able to catch up with the first day of school in Hogwarts.

You might want to stay in Hogwarts for this Christmas, sweetheart. I hope you enjoy it in anyway. I'm enclosing our gift to you in Christmas day, I hope you'll love it.

Be careful around the school. It was already the fourth murder and your father told me that it was a Ravenclaw prefect! Please take extra care and stick with your friends. If you see something unusual, go to any professor (Professor Dumbledore or the Head of your House, Professor Flitwick) immediately. Just keep in touch, sweetheart, and again BE CAREFUL!

I miss you so much and I love you! Take care of yourself and please write to me about you and Harry. I would love to hear it and probably could talk it about with Lily and James. Knowing those two, they would be ecstatic (they told me ages ago that Harry kept of talking about you with them, James thought Harry would do a move anytime soon). Don't worry, sweetheart, we're rooting for you two.

Love,
Mum

PS: Enjoy your Christmas!

(Y/N) read and reread the letter for like the seventh time, and her frown grew apparent as she reread it several times, and her blushes went extra redder as she read upon her mother's insistence for her to write something about her and Harry.

Why are people keep on insisting that she and Harry are a thing where in fact, they're not. At least, not yet. They both understood that they were too young to be a thing. Besides, they never talked about it in any way. They were enough with such antics of wanting to be with each other. They were enough with trying to show to themselves that they were smitten with each other. Although obvious or not, they didn't know.

"Why aren't you packing?" said Padma's voice as she entered their dormitory.

(Y/N) sighed, stowing the letter to the other stack of letters on her bedside desk. She jumped off from her bed and started fixing some of her extra Cauldron Cakes on a small space under her bed.

"I'm not going home." she said after some quite time. "My parents were going to America and told me I couldn't go or else I would be late for next term."

"Oh." said Padma, her voice laced with sadness. "Are you alright in being on yourself here?"

The Heather girl smiled genuinely over her bed to the girl she was talking to.

"I'm alright here." she said. "I think the Weasleys are staying as well. I'll be with them for the holidays."

"That'll be exciting." said Padma, fixing her shoelace. "Parvati told me the Weasley twins have different ways to spend a holiday. They're always exciting."
