• Chapter Thirty : End of the Year •
[••• ––– •••]
Trunks were packed, owls were hooting, cats were mewing, Neville's Mimbulus Mimbletonia was seen in the middle of two owl cages in one of the carriage going out of Hogwarts. The students were cramming themselves into the empty carriages while chatting excitedly about the upcoming summer.
Everyone was excited to go home. Who wouldn't be? After those depressing moments inside the castle where almost all of the students had gotten into danger because of the murders? After those stressful exams? Of course, they all wanted to take a rest after a whole year of pure hard work.
It had been another year, yes, and it just meant one thing. Another set of students had to say goodbye to the school.
"We won't miss you, Cedric!" yelled a seventh year Slytherin to the Hufflepuff pride, Cedric Diggory.
"I won't miss you too!" yelled Cedric back to the cackling Slytherin.
Cho was emotional. She was crying as Cedric had to leave Hogwarts through boats in the Black Lake again and not the usual carriages.
"Don't be such a crybaby." said Draco as he and the rest of his friends rode a carriage outside Hogwarts. "You'll be seeing him in the train."
"Don't be bitter, Draco." snapped Cho, wiping her tears with (Y/N)'s handkerchief. "Cry if you want too."
"Why would I cry?" asked the Slytherin boy scornfully.
"Because you'll be going home single again." said Ginny, laughing.
Blaise laughed hard, but was stopped when Draco smacked him hard in the back of his head.
"What the fuck? Pansy, you saw what he did!" Blaise said to Pansy as though he was a kid losing a pack of candies.
"Serves you right." said Pansy, rolling her eyes.
"And what do you mean by 'I'm going home single'?" Draco asked Ginny irritably. "You are going home single, too."
Ginny laughed derisively. She slowly wrapped her arms around Luna's waist and pulled her closer to her.
(Y/N), Pansy and Cho gasped.
"Since when?" asked (Y/N), aghast.
"Yesterday." said Ginny, grinning at Luna. "She finally gave in."
"Oh, please." Ron grumbled. "I've had enough... I'm done watching (Y/N) and Harry. You two shouldn't be worse than them."
"We're here." said Harry, glaring at Ron. "Just so you know."
"Yeah, and (Y/N)'s going —"
He broke off when Hermione nudged him in the chest. Hermione was giving him a don't-continue-what-you-are-about-to-say look. Everyone watched them curiously.
"Erm... I mean, (Y/N)'s going to miss you among all of us here." Ron ended with a groan of pain as his girlfriend elbowed him again.
(Y/N) raised her eyebrows.
"I didn't say anything like that." she argued back, completely ignoring Hermione's weird antics and looks upon her and Harry.
"Yeah, well... It's obvious." grunted Ron as he massaged his tortured ribs.
"Yeah, it's obvious." muttered Harry beside her. "You're going to miss me, aren't you?"
"Hark who's talking." said (Y/N) teasingly. "Who was the one who arranged a date in the top of the Gryffindor stand because he will not be able to see his girlfriend for two months?"
