• Chapter Three : Diagon Alley •
[••• ––– •••]
Was it normal for Harry to feel jealous for his girlfriend's best friend? Other people may say it was ludicrous. That it was not normal, that he was just over reacting. But Harry didn't feel like it was like that.
Every time he caught the sight of (Y/N) and Draco laughing loudly as though they were the only people in the place, he felt this mad urge to break Draco's bones, which he wasn't supposed to feel because of the obvious reason of their old closeness. They've been friends since before Hogwarts, even before he, Harry, had met (Y/N).
He couldn't help it though. (Y/N) and Draco's relationship had been purely platonic. But he felt like there was something in Draco's stare on the Heather girl. He thought he sensed something behind the grins he was throwing unto her. Something he knew very well.
The monster on his chest and stomach grew more prominent and pronounced even on Friday morning. The day they planned out to visit Diagon Alley for their school shopping.
He and the rest of the boys had just been into the shower on the guest room at the Heather's house while the girls sorted out the tents and everything they had left in the Quidditch pitch. Mr. and Mrs. Heather decided to have a small party on the Quidditch pitch for (Y/N)'s birthday and they'll be sleeping inside the house for the night of Friday instead of the usual camping.
"Are you sure you lot won't need help from me?" asked (M/N) when the boys and girls met on the sitting room.
"No, mum. We could do it ourselves." said (Y/N).
"Oh, alright." said (M/N), giving her daughter a kiss in the cheeks and handing her the pouch of Floo powder. "Do it by twos or threes so that it'll take shorter time."
Cho and Cedric went first. They stood, hand in hand, inside the wide fireplace. Cho threw the powder unto their feet and Cedric yelled "Diagon Alley!". Green flames engulfed them and seconds after, they were gone.
Same goes to Ginny and Luna, who went next. As the green flames burst out for them, they were soon gone. Next was Draco, Pansy and Blaise, who were still bickering over Blaise's tall stature that Draco wanted him to crouch down before they too were gone. Next was Ron and Hermione who casually poured the powder down and shouted "Diagon Alley!" together.
(M/N) gave (Y/N) and Harry a look before they hurried together inside the fireplace.
"Be back before lunch, alright?" said (M/N) to (Y/N). "I'll be cooking."
"We will, mum." said (Y/N) gratefully.
Then (M/N) faced Harry with a very meaningful smile.
"Look after (Y/N), Harry." she said. "She could be a bit careless when she's on shopping."
"Mum!"
Harry chuckled, looking down at (Y/N)'s flushed face.
"I will, (M/N)." he said, looking up to a smirking (M/N).
"Be safe." was the last word of (M/N) before (Y/N) threw the Floo powder on their feet and shouted "Diagon Alley!" while waving at her mother.
Before he could leave the Heather's house and get sucked up from different fireplaces, Harry took a tight hold of (Y/N)'s hands. Their eyes were closed shut as they moved from fireplace to fireplace. Then, after a few seconds that felt like an hour, they stopped into a familiar fireplace of Diagon Alley, almost toppling over by the sudden halt but gained themselves by gripping each other's hand.
