• Chapter Nine : Secret Meet-Up •
[••• ––– •••]
Monday came faster than the lightning strike that engulfed the whole magical place. Harry could barely count the hours he had to spend inside the boys' dormitory since Saturday. He hadn't got the energy to socialize and talk to anyone else but his dorm mates. He didn't want to see Elaine as much as possible. She was literally draining his mental energy by just talking and having her presence around him.
He had not been lying when he told (Y/N) that he thought Elaine was a total red flag and that he hadn't — not even a tinge — like her. He had thought that the moment he had seen her blonde hair, he knew that she was annoying. It was like the same moment he met Draco, he had actually thought that Draco was a total pain in the ass.
But the thing is that he couldn't find the courage to shoo her off. Sure, he was a Gryffindor, but he wasn't the same Harry anymore, he knew it. His confidence lessened as the time passed by and he couldn't blame anyone else but himself. He just wished that he wasn't thinking this much.
The whole of his Monday morning schedule was boring. Only when he saw (Y/N) at breakfast did that make his day beautiful. The rest of the hours were completely dreary. He spent those hours thinking of (Y/N) and the small kiss he received from her last Saturday. Oh, how much he wondered when will he kiss her passionately again.
Harry had a free period after lunch, which he decided to spend waiting for the Ravenclaw girl outside Snape's classroom since she has Defense Against the Dark Arts class. He was glad that Elaine didn't follow him or he would have to put up with her for another hour.
He always had patience when it comes to (Y/N). Even if she took a whole day in a classroom, he still can wait for her. Although he was so bored and had half the mind to leave his place and wander off somewhere, he still held the only decent thought he had, which was to see her and feel her (not sexually).
He once heard that being close to your ex was something close to toxicity. And yet, for him, it wasn't toxic. It was just a little closure in between them after their break-up. Plus, Harry wanted her — more than anything else — he needed her despite everything.
Pansy didn't like the thing between him and her girl best friend and Harry couldn't blame her too. She saw what (Y/N) went over months ago when the issue was still fresh in the air. She witnessed the Ravenclaw girl's struggle when he couldn't be with her. She watched her bleed on the floor. She practically bled with her.
Harry understood where Pansy's irateness came from. He also gets why Draco was being mean and arrogantly painful towards him. Who wouldn't get angry if your best friend got hurt because of some stupid and mentally problematic boy?
Harry heaved out a sigh, standing up properly from leaning on the wall, and began pacing while thinking of the things he wanted to talk about with (Y/N).
Ten more minutes after, Harry heard the door open and turned. The Ravenclaws forced their way out of the classroom, their noises carried over as they walked past Harry.
He lingered a little further, awaiting his girl. He finally saw her walking out inexplicably alone while searching for something in her bag, her hair was covering her face as she annoyingly brushed her hair up.
Harry hastened beside her and pushed her hair to her shoulder. The girl slightly jumped at the contact but softened when she realized that it was just Harry and continued searching.
"What are you looking for?" he asked, still holding her hair.
"My hair tie." (Y/N) breathed out. "I couldn't find it."
