• Chapter Twenty Six : O.W.L.s •

The month of June finally arrived. Whether it was good or bad, the students who was about to take their exams didn't know. The high and pressing atmosphere turned more gloomy like the ceiling of the Great Hall as what (Y/N) noticed when she entered on a Monday morning a week before their schedule for their O.W.L.s.

Teeth chattering and heart beating in an unexpectedly fast manner, she made her way into the Ravenclaw table, apparently, alone. There was a loud mutterings around the table, mostly led by her nervous co-fifth years, and was talking about the O.W.L.s itself.

"I heard that the head of the Wizarding Examinations Authority, Griselda Marchbanks, will be coming on Sunday night. Exactly before our first day of exam." said Alex, a fifth year Ravenclaw, who was seated a few meters away from (Y/N).

"What's she like?" asked Alex's friend named Felix. "D'you know?"

"They said she's strict and all. Never bothered if you're parents or grandparents were a very good friends of her." said Alex. "She won't bother knowing at all."

"That's likely." said David, another friend of Alex. "Anyway, I've got something here... Dried Doxies for brain stimulants... Five Galleons per pinch... D'you want to invest or something — ?"

This information took the edge off (Y/N)'s strains and tension over the exam. All of her memorized sentences seemed to have flown away from her mind and it sort of became rigid and empty as she imagined the worst for her O.W.L.s results.

She and her co-Ravenclaws had received their schedules and details for the procedure for O.W.L.s from their last Charms lesson. Their exams were spread over for two successive weeks. They will sit the theory exams in the mornings and the practical exams in the afternoon with the exception for the practical exams for Astronomy, as they are taken place at night. They were also warned that the exams were treated with the most stringent Anti-Cheating Spells and things such as Auto-Answer Quills, Remembralls, Detachable Cribbing Cuffs, and Self-Correcting Ink are strictly banned during their exams.

They were also informed that the arrival of results will happen some time in July and they will not have to worry about how worse they got for their results in the holidays.

Stressed that she might have forgotten everything she had reviewed, she hastily grabbed her book in Arithmancy, propped it over her plate of fresh berries and started skimming over the pages to memorize terms and numbers.

"Love?" called Harry's voice as she aggressively flipped another page.

(Y/N) felt him sat down beside her, as well as his hands rested on her thigh. She looked up, smiling a bit and said;

"Good morning."

"Good morning." greeted Harry back, placing his lips over her cheeks, and slightly brushing her hair in an attempt of fixing it.

She hummed in contentment with the feeling of his fingers brushing her hair. She flipped another page in her book. Harry seemed to notice this silent and concentrated treatment because he had scooted closer and had laid his hand on her lower back instead.

"Babe..." he called on her ears.

(Y/N) hummed again, eyes focused on her book.

"Babe, let's eat."

(Y/N) glanced up, her doleful eyes met his cheery ones. She forced herself to smile despite the forming trembles on her lips due to her weary feeling.
