• Chapter Twenty Nine : Spy •

[••• ––– •••]

"Three days left." said Padma, halfway through folding her newly washed clothes in her opened trunk. "We'll be taking our well needed rest from the O.W.L.s."

She pulled up a balled up white socks and laid it beside her folded shirts.

"And we'll soon know how worse we did in our exams." sighed Toni, combing her hair in front of a mirror that was placed on her bedside table. "I couldn't see how I could worm out my History of Magic into a scratch."

"I'm nervous with my Charms." said Jill, dipping her quill on her ink pot as she was writing a letter to her parents for the upcoming summer. "Flitwick had been trying to help me as much as he can but I can't just get the hang of Charms."

"Might as well worry about your Transfiguration." commented Padma.

"Oh, yeah." said Jill, looking up anxiously. "Flitwick told me that I barely got an E in Transfiguration in my career appointment. How'm I going to manage that?"

"Seek help to (Y/N)." said Toni, eyeing the mentioned girl on her four-poster.

The girl looked up from trying to sort out her stack of letters in her drawer.

"What about me?" she asked. She had not been listening to the conversation and was busy rereading all of her received letters from her mother and father.

"You're excellent in both Transfiguration and Charms, weren't you?" Padma asked, as Toni grinned and Jill looked hopeful.

The Heather girl felt herself blush but let out a genuine grin after.

"It's all rubbish, whatever you had heard." she said, yet by the sound of it, she was smiling.

"Oh, don't be modest, (Y/N)." Jill said, looping a signature over her finished letter. "The truth was that if you decide to leave Hogwarts, the staffs would be disappointed to let you go. With a brain like yours?"

"I couldn't give any more comment." said (Y/N), laughing. She crouched down on her bed and wrenched out the box of sweets. "Thanks, by the way."

Jill let out a low whistle as she stood up, hands clasped with the rolled parchment.

"I'll visit the Owlery." she said, walking across the dorm room. "I have to send this before I start packing... You know, they might want me to buy something first... See you later."

As Jill closed the door, Toni straightened up from her mirror, put on a thin blazer and pulled her set of clips.

"Where are you going?" Padma asked curiously from above her stack of unfolded pajamas.

"Well... it's not just (Y/N) whose got a boy here." said Toni, winking at (Y/N), who was looking at her with perplexity. "I'm meeting someone. He told me to meet him in the Lake..." She stood up properly and waved at them. "I'll see you two later. Bye."

"That's convenient." said Padma, frowning as she watched Toni closed the door of their dorm room. "I hope I'll find someone as well... I'm sick of seeing (Y/N) and Harry all lovey dovey towards each other..."

"Hey!" said (Y/N) indignantly. She stood up from slumping at the floor while trying to finish all of her extra sweets. "We're not that bad!"

"Where's Harry anyway?" Padma asked, soon stuffing the rest of her clothes on her trunk. "I didn't see him since yesterday."

"He's off to the Quidditch pitch." she said. "Angelina wanted to do some last talk with her team before she finally leave Hogwarts."

"I forgot she's leaving." said Padma sadly, tracking down her other things. "I wonder who's going to be the next Gryffindor Captain... Fred and George's leaving too... It'll be a hardwork next year."
