New beginnings.

That's what I kept telling myself when Mom and I finally arrived at our new house.
My eyes widened once I saw how huge the house was. It was mostly yellow, with a few turquoise windows. It seemed old because there was moss growing on the house. The bushes that surrounded the house are in a circle and they're filled with stones.

I loved the outside of the house. I didn't think it would be this big, but having the extra space will be nice. When I first looked at the house online, I read the description and it said there would be a library, so I'm excited to check that out.

Mom and I stood there a few more minutes taking in the beauty of the house. I then grabbed our luggage from the car and we went to the front door.

As Mom was searching for the keys to open the house, I grew sad because I remembered my friend, Jessica, who I may never see again. We've been friends since kindergarten, and she's the only friend I've ever had. I never bothered to make friends. I had Jessica and that was always enough for me, but Mom thinks it's important to be social so one of my goals is to make friends here.

We didn't move here for me to make friends, we moved because a few months ago, my dad passed away due to a car accident. When I got the phone call that he had been in a car accident and was being rushed to the hospital, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I still remember how it happened.

"Hello, this is Anna Hunt speaking," I spoke.
"Hello Anna, your dad was in a car accident and he's being brought to Central Hospital now."  The man on the phone said.

Tears started running down my face rapidly as I declined the call and screamed for Mom. I told her what the man said and she quickly grabbed her keys and we drove to the hospital. I tried to think positively.
Dad's ok, he's a very strong person. He'll make it, I know he will.

When we arrived, I didn't let Mom turn off the car before I jumped out and start running towards the front door. I swung the door open and went to the front desk. "Umm... my dad, Jack Hunt was brought here in an ambulance. Where is he?" I say as I begin to quiver. The receptionist didn't say anything, she just led me to the waiting room. "The doctor will be with you soon." She tried to smile.

Two minutes into waiting, I saw Mom walking into the waiting room. She walked to me and instantly hugged me, knowing I needed one. "Anna, he'll be ok." Mom reassured me.

We sat there in silence for 2 hours.  When I saw the doctor coming out of the operation room, I jumped out of my chair.

"Mrs Hunt, Ms Hunt, I'm sorry to inform you that Jack didn't make it. When we rushed him to the hospital, we did our best but he was already gone." The doctor spoke slowly and sadly.

Tears rushed down my face, as I recalled that horrible memory. I remember crying in Mom's arms for days. I just couldn't believe that my dad was taken away from this world.
