I woke up to my phone buzzing. I picked it up and saw Jessica was calling me. "Hey, Jess," I said. "Hi, Anna!" She answered. "Why are you calling so early," I asked. I looked outside and it looked like the sun was starting to come up so, it must be around 6. "Well, it's 9 am here in California, so shouldn't it be 6 pm in Italy?" She questioned. I forgot that Jessica still thought I was in Italy, and still lived with my mom. I mean she's my best friend, but would Lorenzo kill me if I told her? What am I kidding, Of course, he would! "Anna!" she called out, "Oh yeah, you're right. I just fell asleep and thought it was the morning." I fake laughed.
"Ok, what have you been up to?" She asked. "Um, nothing much! Just staying at home." I answered. I heard someone knock at the door. "I have to go. My mom's at the door." I said and dropped. "Come in," I spoke. The door opened to reveal Kate. "Hi!" She said with excitement. "How are you so energetic at 6 am?" I asked while yawning. "Well, I couldn't sleep all night because I'm so excited for tonight but then I drank three coffees and now I feel awake." She smiled. I put my hand to my face and shook my head. "Why would you drink coffee at 6 am?" I asked. "So I could do this!" She replied.
I was confused. Do what? As I was thinking to myself, Kate ripped the duvet off my bed with force. "What was that for?!" I laughed. "You're going to get out of bed, get changed and go eat breakfast with you." She said. I wanted to argue but knew I would lose, so I just got out of bed and went to the bathroom in the room. "Great! Meet me at the front door in 10!" She said happily.
I tiredly walked to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and hair and used the toilet. I then styled my hair in a high ponytail. I'm not very good a ponytails, but I think it turned out decent. I went to my suitcase and picked out pink denim shorts and a white off-the-shoulder crop top. I usually never wear accessories, but today I decided to wear a few rings and sunglasses. I put on my air force 1's and walked out of the room. I remembered Kate telling me to meet her at the front door so I headed there.
When I got there, Kate was jumping up and down. "Woah, Kate you're a bit too hyper," I said. When she heard that she turned around and hugged me. "No silly, I'm not!" She laughed. I hugged her awkwardly until she pulled away. "Ok, Terry going to take us to Starbucks." She smiled. My eyes widen. I opened the door and pushed her out. "What are we waiting for? Let's go!" I said enthusiastically. We got into the car and told Terry where we wanted to go. He nodded his head and started driving.
15 minutes later, we got there and Kate and I got out of the car and went inside. There was no one at the till, so we walked up to it. "I'll have a caramel frappé and a cheese and bacon bagel," I said. "What will you get Kate?" I asked. "I'll get a cookies and creme frappe and a cheese bagel." She replied. The person at the till told us the price, and Kate paid for it.
I told her I could pay but she insisted she pays. The person told us to take a seat, and they'll be ready with our drinks soon. We talked about the ball while we waited. Kate said that she's paid makeup artists to do our makeup, which I got excited for. We soon got our drinks and food and began to eat. When we were finished we decided to go to the nail salon. We got into the car and told Terry. He drove there, and we went inside.
The lady at the desk asked what we wanted down. "Can I get my nails done?" I asked. The lady nodded. "There's a lot of colours to choose from and you can find them over there." She said. I smiled and went in the direction she pointed at. I looked at all of the colours and came to a decision. I walked over to the lady back at the desk. "I'll get red gel nails," I said. She smiled at me and told me to go over to the lady near the back. I walked over to the lady, and she sat me down.
"What would you like?" She asked. "Red acrylic nails," I answered. She smiled and nodded. When the lady started I saw Kate sit down beside me. "What are you getting?" I asked. "Pink acrylic nails." She replied. "I'm getting red gel nails done," I said. After that, we both went on our phones.
An hour later, Kate and I finished getting our nails done. We paid and walked out of the shop. Kate called Terry and told him we were finished. 20 minutes later, Terry arrived and took us back to the house. It was around 9 am when we got back. Kate wanted to hang out, but I wanted to go to my room and sleep. I put my phone down on the bedside table and went to sleep.
"WAKE UP!" I heard someone shout. I opened my eyes to see Kate at the door. "It's time to get our makeup done!" She smiled. I took my phone and turned it on to see it was 5 pm. I had been asleep for a really long time. I got out of bed and walked with Kate to the make up artists. When we reached Kate's room, I saw two chairs had been out and makeup was being spread on the big table. "Hi." The ladies said in unison. I smiled and took a seat on one of the chairs. Kate did the same and we waited for them to ask what we wanted.
" What would you like Anna?" She asked. Wow, she knew my name already. "Can I get a smokey eye with red lipstick?" I asked. She nodded and started to begin. In that time, I went on my phone and waited for her to finish. Half an hour later, she finished. She showed me, and I loved it. I thanked the girl and went back to my room to do my hair. I settled on curling my hair. It didn't take too much time to do because I'm not a perfectionist. Lastly, I put on my dress.
Putting on this dress again reminded me of how much I loved it. I put on my high heels and waited for the time to reach. An hour later, I got a text from Mario telling me he and Lorenzo were at the front door waiting. I put my phone down and walked out of the room. I walked to the front door and saw no reaction from both of them. "Wow, thanks." I rolled my eyes. "Oh, you look amazing Anna." Mario smiled. I looked at Lorenzo and he looked me up and down. "You look..... nice." He said.
Nice?
At least he said something. We stood there and waited for Kate to make her entrance. When she walked in my mouth opened. "Wow, Kate. You look stunning in that dress." I smiled. "Yeah, what she said," Mario said. "You look great." Lorenzo smiled. I looked at him. I've only known him for a few days, but from what I've seen Lorenzo never smiles. "Thank you, guys." Kate smiled.
"Okay, are we ready to go?" Mario asked. "No. Anna, here you go. Keep this hidden under your dress." Lorenzo told me, as he handed me a knife and gun. I nodded and we walked out the door. Since it was a big occasion, Lorenzo got a limousine. We got inside and the driver drove off.
It took about half an hour to get to the destination. The building looked like a castle. It looked old but still very beautiful. Getting ready I wasn't nervous, but now that we were here, I was feeling very nervous. Everyone else got out of the car, and I was the only one left. I contemplated telling the driver to drive back to the house, but I know Lorenzo would not be happy about that stunt. What if I get kidnapped? I worried about all of these things but remembered that I would be standing beside Lorenzo the whole night. I took a few deep breaths, and opened the car door and got out.
