I got out of the shower and blow-dried my hair. When I was finished I grabbed my makeup and my dress and headed to Kate's room.

I knocked on the door three times before she opened it. "Hi," I said as I walked inside. "Hey." She answered. I put my dress on her bed and walked over to her vanity and sat down.

I started doing my makeup while Kate blow-dried her hair. I decided to use purple eyeshadow because it would look nice with my dress.

"Kate, why are we even going to this party?" I asked. "Because we were invited." She answered.

I didn't believe her. It has to be more than that or else we wouldn't be going. "Kate, what is it?" I asked. "Leonardo is the one throwing the party." Kate sighed.

I looked astonished. If Leonardo was the one throwing the party, then why were we going? I thought I was a target.

"Why are we going?" I asked. "Because Lorenzo says he can use you as bait, and then he can kill Leonardo," Kate explained.

My blood started boiling because of what Kate told me. I rushed out of her and room and ran downstairs. I knocked on his office door and waited for him to let me in.

"Come in." I heard him say.

I opened the door, and he seemed surprised to see I was the one.

"Lorenzo, what's wrong with you?" I asked. He looked at me confusedly, like he always does when he wants to pretend he doesn't know what I mean. "What? I haven't done anything." He responded. I scoffed. "You're seriously going to send me to his party," I spoke.

"Kate and Mario will be with you the whole time," Lorenzo assured me.

"THAT'S NOT THE POINT!" I shouted. He stood up and walked over to me. I backed up and hit my back against the door. "What's the point?" He asked.

"The point is that you said I couldn't go to college because I was a target, but you're letting me go to this party," I answered.

"Yeah." He spoke.

"Why?" I asked.

"I heard that you were on the list for the party. Before you ask, I don't know why he would invite you but this is good for me." Lorenzo explained.

"You can't kill your brother," I said.

He started laughing. I stood there with a serious face and waited for his little laugh to be over.

"And why is that?" He asked.

"Because he's your brother. He wouldn't kill you and I know that." I told him.

He didn't say anything for a moment but I could see the anger in his face. He clenched his fists. All of a sudden he banged it off the door, right above my head.
