It was pitch black when I woke up. Kate was no longer in my room, so I checked the time. It was 2:15 am.
I tried to go back to sleep but I'm way too awake to do that.
I walked downstairs knowing my sleep schedule would be messed up.
I had to go on my tippy toes to grab a glass. I turned on the tap and waited a few seconds for the water to get colder.
I sat down on one of the stools and scrolled through Instagram.
I heard the door to the kitchen opening so I looked to see who it was.
Lorenzo had a smirk on his face for some weird reason. I ignored his presence and continued to scroll on my phone.
"What did I do wrong this time?" He asked as he walked over to the fridge.
"Nothing," I answered.
He didn't respond to that. He sat beside me and ate his food.
I tried to focus on my phone, but it was hard. I wanted to tell him something that was important to know but I didn't know how to say it.
"I want you to know that I'm thankful for you coming to get me," I spoke.
My sentence made him smile and he nodded as a way to say your welcome.
"I don't forgive you for what you did to Caden though," I added.
Lorenzo's expression had now gone to something I can't read. I can't tell if he's angry, happy or sad. He just seems..... like nothing.
"Anna what will it take for you to forgive me?" He asked.

I knew that wasn't possible so I spared myself the sarcasm.
"Nothing. There's absolutely nothing you can do." I responded.
"You do understand why I did it, right?" He asked as he sighed.
I would've answered that question with, "yeah, because you were looking out for my safety." but that wasn't it.
Lorenzo did it because I wouldn't obey him. If I got away, I would've gone to college and would've gotten kidnapped.
