Watching him walk away, stung really badly. I don't understand Lorenzo. One minute he's acting all nice, and the next he's boiling with anger. Maybe asking about his siblings was a bad idea, but he had no right to scream at me. I ran upstairs and went to Kate's room.
"Hi, Anna!" She said as she hugged me. I hadn't seen Kate in a while, even though we lived in the same house. "Hi," I said discouragingly. She sat down on her bed, and I did the same. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Lorenzo came to my room, and we were playing 21 questions, so I asked if he had any siblings and then he shouted at me, and we had a fight." I sighed.
"Lorenzo hasn't told anyone about if he has any siblings, but I know that there was this guy who came to work for the mafia and he asked Lorenzo if he had siblings, and well, no one ever saw that dude again. I'd say you're lucky." She spoke. I glared at her. Really? I told her what happened and that was the best response she could give me? Although I didn't expect that response, I still smiled because I knew Kate's intentions.
"I just don't know what his problem is," I said. "I do. You're challenging him. You want him to tell you things about him. You're not afraid to ask. That's what his problem is. Before, he would have never needed to stuff like that because people were afraid to ask." Kate explained. I guess that made sense. I nodded and she smiled. I didn't feel like talking about this topic for one second more.
"What are you doing today?" She asked. "I'm going to see my mom!" I jumped up and down. A week ago, my mom had texted me asking if I could come for dinner. I asked Lorenzo and he surprisingly said yes. Crazy, I know! "Ooo, that sounds fun." Kate smiled. "It is! I haven't seen my mom in like, forever. It'll be nice to see her." I spoke. "Don't worry about Lorenzo. If your that persuasive, he'll tell you soon." She said. I nodded. "Now, do you want to watch a movie?" I asked. She smiled at me. "You know me so well." She laughed. We laid in her bed and watched a bunch of Disney movies.

I looked at my phone to see it read, 6:20 pm and rushed up and opened the door. "Where are you going?" She asked. "I have to get ready for my mom and I's dinner," I answered. "I'll do your makeup." She said. I nodded and sat at her vanity mirror. I turned on the light and it shone brightly on my face. I squinted until I could get used to the light.Kate came and took out all of her makeup. Our foundations are the same, so I didn't have to run and get mine. She dabbed the foundation and it got rid of all my blemishes. "What are you wearing tonight?" Kate asked. "I'm just going to wear blue skinny jeans, with a white crop top," I replied. She stopped applying makeup and looked at me shockingly.
"You can't wear that tonight!" She told me. I looked at her confusedly. Why couldn't I? "I can, and I will," I spoke. She put down the brush and walked towards her closet. She picked out a dress and threw it at me. "You can wear this." She said. I shook my head. I was a very casual person, and my mom always understood that. "No, K." I glared at her. She raised her hands in surrender. "Okay, okay, fine." She laughed.
She continued with my makeup. Kate went for a party makeup style because I had refused to wear the dress. "All done." Kate smiled. I thanked her and told her I would just brush my hair. She wanted to argue about that too but decided not to. I smiled and walked out.
Walking back to my room, I bumped into someone. I looked up and saw lucifer standing before me. We stared at each other for a few seconds before walking off. I decided that I wasn't going to speak to him unless he spoke to me first. Call that petty, call that whatever you want. He's in the wrong and should apologize.
I brushed my hair and put on my clothes. I checked the time, and it showed 6:40 pm. I had to be at my mom's house at 7 so I rushed out of my room and downstairs. Terry took me to the car and drove off.
It took 15 minutes to get there. I told Terry that I'd call when I wanted to be collected. He reminded me of the rules and I rolled my eyes. Lorenzo surely didn't think I would try something, again.
I knocked on the door nervously. It had been a long time since I had seen my mom. What would we talk about? I was starting college in two days, but that wasn't interesting.
She opened the door and I was greeted with a hug. "Hi, Mom," I said. "Hi dear." She smiled. I went inside and looked at my surroundings. Nothing had changed since I had come here. Mom smiled at me and led me to the dining room. "I have people I would like you to meet." She told me. I smiled. I thought this was just going to be us. I guess eating dinner with her friends won't be so bad.
I walked into the dining room and saw a man who looked the same age as my mom. His hair was black and ruffled. His eyes were green like an emerald. He was dressed in nice attire. Beside him was a younger man who looked the same as this other man except his hair was dirty blond and curly.
"Anna, this is Giovanni and Luca Romano." She smiled. I tried to smile at the gentleman but I was very confused. Why is a man and his son in my mothers' house? "Anna, Giovanni is my boyfriend." My mom said. I smiled on the outside but on the inside, I was shocked. I never pictured my mom with another man especially since my dad only died a few months ago. I couldn't believe my mom. How could she move on from dad so quickly?
I sat down beside my mom and began to eat. This is going to be one hell of a dinner.
