I leaned forward breathing heavily and tears streaming down my face.Lorenzo takes my chin and moves it so I'm looking at him now.
"What happened?" He asked.
I shook my head as I way to say nothing but he put his hands on either side of my face and made me look into his eyes.
"Anna, you can tell me." He spoke softly.
The last time I heard Lorenzo speaking softly and nicely was when I was sitting in the rain after my mother and I had a fight.
I explained the dream or a nightmare I guess to Lorenzo. He listened attentively which made me happy.
When I finished he didn't say a word.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Nothing, I'm sorry." He answered.
He stood up and walked to where Mario and Kate were sitting. He spoke to them but I couldn't hear what they were saying.
All of a sudden I hear Kate sigh. "Fine." She spoke as she stood up and walked over to me.
She took the seat that Lorenzo was sitting on which confused me.
"Is Lorenzo not coming back?" I asked.
"No, what happened? When he walked over to me and Mario he seemed all shaken up." She said.
I put my hands up to my face.
I knew I shouldn't have told him about the nightmare. He's probably freaked out:
"I told him about the nightmare I had," I answered.
Kate seemed intrigued which made me roll my eyes.
"Tell me!" She spoke energetically.
I shook my head.
I didn't feel like explaining the story again and having the person freak out.
I understand why Lorenzo did though. It scares me too. I had come to the fact that my dad was dead more than a month ago, but the dream was different.
Kate didn't press me to tell her which I was thankful about.
We decided to watch a movie on my laptop. Kate grabbed her earphones and we shared.
Kate fell asleep thirty minutes into the movie. I took out the earplugs from her ear and put them in my left one.
By the time the movie was over, Kate had woken up.
She made me explain the whole movie to her which took me forever because I kept leaving crucial bits out so, in the end, it didn't make sense.
We looked over at Lorenzo and Mario and they were playing with cards.
I never thought I would say that sentence. I didn't imagine I would have to. Lorenzo surprises me every day.
